 Quick Bio:
Likes: Attention!!! Playing with his toys and his brother Montie, Chasing Squirrels, BARKING way too much, and cuddling with Mommie

Pet-Peeves: Montie taking his toys, being in the crate, nail trimming, baths, not being able to get up the tree to catch those darn squirrels, or being away from Mommie.

Favorite Toy: Kong, Stuffed animals.

Favorite Food: Treats.

Favorite Walk: In the park behind our house, but he does not like other dogs. He has a "little man's" complex.

Best Tricks: Begging on his hind legs, and giving the puppy dog eyes.

Arrival Story: Charlie came into my life when I was looking for another Dachshund to be a companion not only to myself but to Montie. I had originally traveled to Michigan to get another Dachshund, however things did not work out with that Dachshund. I then went online looking at Petfinder.com, which is where I found the Dachshund Rescue of Michigan and Ohio. I went to visit Debbie(the organizer of the rescue group) to meet the Dachshunds.
When I arrived, and went up to the fence, I noticed Charlie there, because he had pushed his Kong underneath the fence and was trying to retrieve it. After I had given it back to him, he immediately ran away and was playing with his Kong. He had so much spunk and energy, that I knew that Charlie was the one for us and for Montie. I was looking for a compatible companion for Montie, and Charlie was it. After playing with Charlie for a bit, and watching him interact with my husband, we both decided that Charlie would join our family. We have not regretted it, since he has brought so much joy into our lives as well as Montie's.

Bio: Charlie originally ended up in the rescue because he had bitten a little boy, and loved to scrap with other dogs. We have not had any problems with him since we have gotten him. He loves to snip when a new person comes in the door, but once you pet him, he is yours forever!!

I made a big boo-boo yesterday. When Mommie was down in the computer room, I decided that I would go poopy on the floor. Not too long afterwards, Mommie came back upstairs. I was so scared that I could not even look at her. She knew immediately that I had done something wrong.... she can always read me like a book. When she found my little "surprise" she was immediately calling my name "Charlie!!". I knew that I was in big trouble then so I headed for my crate(the safe zone), but did not get there in time. Mommie told me to come to her, but I just could not. I knew that she was so mad at me. I flipped on my back, and gave her my "I am soooooooo sorry" look, but it did not work. (Though I did see Mommie trying not to laugh.. she always does that to me when I give her that look.. wonder why).
Mommie finally caught me and took me to the area when I had went poopy. She made me sit in front of it, and told me to look at it. I just could not look at it. I knew that I was in trouble, and I just did not want to look at it. I was trying to give Mommie kisses and cuddle up to her, but she did not want me to. I was so upset. I just kept trying to give Mommie the puppy dog eyes.. that did not work either. I did not know what to do!!!!! Montie was trying to act like he was innocent.. yeah right Montie.. you have made mistakes on the floor before too!!!
Mommie put me in the crate for a few minutes so that I could think about what I had done. I was so upset. All I wanted to do was cuddle with Mommie to let her know that I was sorry.
Everything is fine now. Mommie is not mad at me anymore. I am going to try to be a good Dachshund.. I really am. I don't like it when my Mommie is mad at me. She is never mad at me unless I do that.
Woof,
Charlie

Well Christmas is over, and I have a ton of new toys. I love my toys. I am a big toy aggressor, though my Mommie tries to stop me from being like that. I can be a bit selfish with my brother Montie when it comes to toys. I sure do love my Kongs and my Tennis balls though. I love tearing apart the Tennis balls until they mess up the floor, and my Mommie has to clean them up. I sure hope that Christmas comes around a lot more so that I can get even more toys!!! (Montie can not use them though).
We got a lot of snow and ice for Christmas. I was sliding everywhere!! I still love to be outside though. I love to dig in the snow. My brother Montie does not like to be outside because it is too cold, but the cold does not matter to me. My Mommie makes sure that I am nice and warm when I go out. I sure wish that she would get me some booties though so that my little paws are not so cold.
Well, that is all for now. I am mad at my Mommie at the moment because she has me in the cage. (I like to go potty when they are not in the room, so they do this so I will not go potty on the floor). I really do hate it when Mommie and Daddy are not in the room. I just love attention and cuddling.
Woof,
Charlie
