Arrival Story:
I was looking for a companion for my other dog, Georgia at a local rescue facility. I didn't want a puppy, so I asked them if they had dogs over 2 years old, good with dogs and cats, and already housebroken. Somebody led me to her kennel. She was sleeping with an E-collar on, and I could see all of her bones sticking out. I also noticed 3 servings of her meal untouched in her kennel. They told me they think she was hit by a car before coming to the rescue. When the lady woke her up, and took her out of the kennel, she seemed to come alive. They said she's good with other animals and perfectly housebroken. I couldn't take my Georgia to see her because Georgia was deathly terrified of everything and anything incluing going outside. So I trusted them, signed the adoption contract saying I could return her in 3 days if she doesn't work out with the other animals, and brought her home. As soon as she laid her eyes on Georgia and 2 cats, I knew she was most definitely not good with other animals. She kept having the most severe unscoopable diarrhea that would be absored by the earth leaving just stains. I decided I won't take her back to that rescue because she was so thin, having this horrible diarrhea, and obviously not eating, but these people just kept shoving food inside her kennel! I couldn't return her back there! So I decided that I would find a good home for her without any other animals.

Bio:
After trying unsuccessfully in finding her a new home, I got bitten by her 6 times in the first 5 months I had her, all 6 times were when I was in her way of getting to another animal. Now I could not find another home for her knowing that she bites! I'd rather want it to be me that she bites than having her bite another person or another animal and possible be killed in a shelter. So Brooklyn lives in my bedroom, separated from 2 other dogs and 2 cats. She's a very sweet girl who just wants to be in the presence of people. Her cinnamon roll looking tail wags like crazy when I come home from work - she screams in joy while her entire butt is moving from side to side. She loves to listen to me singing and talking to her. She's very concerned about how she looks, so she grooms herself just like a cat, and lies down with her front legs crossed. And I know she will protect me when I'm nervous about certain people while walking her at night - more than once, she kept a crackhead and drunks away from us. I love her do death!

So my mom tells me I'm very pretty, beautiful and gawgeous, and I know it. I am very busy everyday to look my best, grooming and sitting/lying pretty and walk like the diva I am! And I'm not just full of myself, I stopped 3 cars in my neighborhood while taking my mom to walk with me. All 3 people wanted to know what breed I was! My mom's answer to anybody who asks is "Oh, she's the best kind! She a mutt!" And then she would tell them a little more specifics. So I AM the best kind!!!!

My mom says some people do not like to get a mutt and they only want purebred dogs, and some mutts with some fancy schmancy designer names and attach "purebred" in front! My mom doesn't understand it and quite frankly I don't either! I'm such a good looking pure Diva Inu! And I'm a mutt! And I am dang proud of it, too!

Why do some people let the dogs run free off-leash when the dogs do not have rock solid recall? I, as you already know if you read my bio, am not good with other animals. My mom tells me that it's not my fault that I don't get along with other dogs. She tells me it's because either my previous family did not properly socialized me, or had a very bad experience in the past. But no matter what the reason is, I really really feel bad after I bite my mom in a frenzy to get to another dog. My mom scolds me and gets mad at me for a few hours (I could tell because she doesn't tell me how good and pretty I am for a few hours), but tells me later on that she still loves me and gives me lots of love. But I feel so guilty after biting my mom, I get depressed for a while... It's very hard for me to control myself when I see another dog and my mom tries her best not to let me bite the other dog, standing in between or sometimes just bear hugging me. But it's very hard for her when the dog is free off-leash, and do not go back to his or her own mom or dad when called. It's very frustrating for me and my mom... Please don't get me wrong, I don't even know why I get like this and I have been trying so very hard not to do that. Mom told me I got much much better than before and she's proud of me! What if I was a stray without my mom holding my leash? There ARE poor stray dogs who do not have the family of their own, believe me, some of them are vicious!

So please please please keep your dogs on leash if your dogs don't have rock solid recall!
