Arrival Story:
Toto came to be with us after spending a month in a kill center, she had a guardian angel watching over her as most of the dogs in that place were killed within days of being picked up. A wonderful lady who volunteered at the center posted her on petfinder, She needed heartworm treatments and was very underweight, scared and tiny. Thanks to her foster mom she went through her heartworm treatments and finally got to come home with us.

Toto is her original name, we had thought about changing it completely when we got her, we added to it instead - Totoro (an anime character) We decided to keep her name because, well heck, even to i didn't really like it, it suits her. Also, we wanted to respect her first owners choice. Her first family was an older couple, I was told that they were living on the streets, had lost their home a year or so before and were moving across country to a different shelter when the van they were riding in broke down and the guy collapsed on the interstate. Toto had puppies, there is a photo of her with 2 of them at the vets office. Toto still gets pretty freaked out if someone is laying on the floor, my 4 year old had fallen asleep on the floor while watching a movie and toto just really flipped out, started shaking. its getting better, but every once in awhile you can see it in her eyes that she remembers things, tho its getting less and less and far between it does still happen. - Thanks to BETH and her VET for saving Toto, she has become such a light in our lives.
