Going to see Aunt Skibo

Aunt Skibo came over yesterday with Grammy. We had lots of fun together. Aunt Skibo is half Shetland Sheep Dog (Mom says "Sheltie"), a quarter Husky and a quarter Golden Retriever. Mom says she is a herd dog, so I have to be careful of her because she is pushy and snippy sometimes, but sometimes we have lots of fun together too. Today Mom is taking me over to see Aunt Skibo and Grammy and Pops. I hope Skibo is nice to me. I like playing with her. She has a big yard to run in. I like that. Mom loves Aunt Skibo and Aunt Skibo loves Mom, so sometimes a I get a little jealous if Mom pets her. But she always pets me to, so I know it's okay. Sometimes when Skibo gets snippy Grammy or Pops makes her go to her room for a time-out. So I can relax for a few minutes and Skibo can chill. Mom feels kinda bad about that, but I don't - mean dogs need a time out. Or a hug or a doggie treat or something.. I think all dogs should be happy dogs!!

I hope I get to go to the river this weekend. It's so much fun out there. Dad is going today, but Mom has stuff to do, so I'm staying with Mom, cause Dad has work to do out there - he is building a pavillion so we don't get rained on like we did two weeks ago - we live in Washington and sometimes that happens - and he's worried that he won't be able to spend time with me and I'll be too bored. Maybe we can go out tomorrow or Sunday.

I made lots of new friends this past two days!! So I want send out a special shout out to all my new friends - Hey Everyone (waving paw and grinning). Mom and I are looking forward to getting to know you all. And meeting new friends ; -D

Mom and Dad took me camping this weekend at our river property. We go almost every weekend in the summer. I like it out there. There are lots of smells that I've never smelled before. last weekend I defended camp from a deer. Mom and Dad kept telling me to stop barking, but I knew that I needed to defend the campsite. Silly humans. I don't think they can hear and smell as good as I can!! I like going there because there is a creek that runs by our property and empties into the main river so we can swim and play catch in the creek without being in danger of being swept away. Last weekend my cousins Jake and Bear came out to play, they are kind of like me but they are different. Jake is a yellow lab and Bear is a black lab. We have great fun chasing the ball. Jake is really fast and he usually gets the ball. The humans like it when he gets the ball because he tosses it right back to them. Mom says I'm a "control freak" and won't give the ball to anyone, but sometimes my back hurts from too much running so I have to rest. My mom knows this and she's the best because she lets me rest until I'm ready to run again. My new friend Sierra was there too. I like her a lot. She is a Golden like me, but her hair is more red then I am. She gives the ball to our humans too. Aunt Skibo was there too. She's mean to me sometimes, so I try to avoid her. Aunt Skibo is a herding dog, what ever that means. And she is always trying to push me around. I don't like it. This weekend Sierra came out to play again. We had a good time. We spent lots of time at the river chasing the ball and cooling off, boy was it hot! Mom and Dad let me sleep in the trailer on my own bed. Mom brings my blanket out so I feel right at home. I like going to the river. It's lots of fun.
