Arrival Story:
I wanted to rescue a dog so badly. Having 4 bunnies I needed a breed that didn't have much of a prey drive. I also wanted a dog who was content to sit on the couch and watch TV as well as enjoy the outdoors and run around. So I researched and researched every breed out there. The Cavalier seemed to fit best into my lifestyle so I started looking. I found Kashmir on Petfinder.com. He was in a foster home in PA so I rented a car and drove 3 1/2 hours from DC! He was timid and shy at first but now he's growing into a silly and happy dog, the kind of dog I always wanted.

Bio:
Kashmir's foster mother goes to dog auctions, where puppy mill owners and brokers go to buy and sell dogs. She poses as one of them and brings back with her as many dogs as she can. Kashmir was 10 months old when rescued, he was too old to be sold as a puppy and was going to become a stud dog. He would have lived his life in a chicken wire cage and probably underfed, terrified, and sick. We are so happy Kashmir was sparred from this horrific fate, but no dog should have to go through it. Until there are none adopt one!!!!!! You will be saving 2 lives...the dogs you adopt and the dog who takes his place at either the shelter or foster home
