OK...I know I have a gray face and a "slightly fluffy" body and just so you know that all comes with age! But age is just a number! I am Renata Blossom AKA Blossie....and I am aged to perfection. I am way passed the puppy chewing stage and I am in the hanging out stage! I must say I enjoy that a lot! I still LOVE to go for long walks and I play everyday with the 9 month old Boxer puppy in my foster home...so I am not an old lady with no energy. I am looking for a forever home just like all the other Boxers on BRBR's website. I get along with other dogs just fine and live with a cat. But sometimes I can't help myself and I chase her some. But even when I catch her I would never hurt her. So if you think you have the perfect home for an older but very wise Boxer lady then contact BRBR and we can meet up and see if you have what it takes to be my forever family!

ADOPT 2010 CONTEST

I am Renata Blossom. And just so you know that means ' Reborn Flower'! I am a reborn flower just starting my new life and boy am I going to BLOOM into something GREAT! I was used as a baby making machine......I don't know how or why but I was in a nasty shelter and another 'rescue' pulled me to what I thought was safety. But they 'dumped' me in another shelter and a 'gassing' shelter none the less cause they said I was 'dog aggressive'. Blue Ridge Boxer Rescue found out what happened and got me out of there. Boy, do I owe my life the those nice people! I am now in a great foster home on the east coast of NC. There are 3 boxers here and a old English Bulldog.I am going through heart worm treatments so I don't get to play with them but that 'old' English bulldog lets me snuggle with him on the dog bed.. So dog aggressive, I am not!! I am not sure but my foster mom & I think the other 'rescue' sent me back cause of my heartworms and mom says their loss is Blue Ridge's gain. But my foster mom says heartworms are a fairly easy fix and we are taking care of them now! I am allowed free roam of the house when the other boxers are outside and I don't mess with a thing. I have a foster skin sister that lets me snuggle at night with her. She says I am a 'bed hog'...I have no clue what that is. But I think our mom should look into getting her a bigger bed! I am house trained and I love to snuggle. I am a petite girl with lots of love to give. I love giving kisses and getting them too. All I can say is I am going to make the most of my new life. Renata Blossom here...or Blossy for short! I am still hanging out in my foster home waiting and wondering. Wondering how long it's going to take my forever home to find me. My foster Mom says to "stay positive.... cause good things come to those who wait". But listen, I am not crazy. I know I am no spring chicken and my face is gray. But with age comes intelligence. I do not get into things [unless you throw a steak in the trash...then who could resist?] I am happy to hang out on the couch or in the floor or I still like to take nice walks and play in the back yard. So I am your all around best choice...forget those pesky chewing puppies....remember with them comes the chore of HOUSEBREAKING....YIKES! Go ahead and put in your application. I would like to be in my forever home before Christmas so you have time to get all my gifts under the tree!

My Diary

**We only adopt our dogs to INDOOR homes. All BRBR dogs are kept indoors. There are NO exceptions to this rule!
**All current pets have to be current on all vaccines.
** Dogs must be on Heart Worm Prevention.

8-13-08 Ok....let's try this again.....It's Renata Blossom here just as cute as ever. Now, why am I still here? Can you not see my picture to see how cute I am or what? Not only am I cute, I have wonderful manners. No jumping and I am allowed free roam of the house and I don't touch a thing. I get along with other dogs even the grumpy one that lives in my foster home. What more could you ask for. Yes, I know there are lots of puppies running around and yes I have gray in my mask. But don't let that fool you. I have plenty of energy and keep with with anyone. My heart worm treatments are over and yes I am NEGATIVE! So with that being said, I am ready for you to apply and I will personally sort through the applications and will be in touch.

7-1-08 No more waiting! I am READY to come home! I received my negative heart worm status on Saturday!! I am going at the end of this week to have a small bump removed from my leg...Mom says don't sweat the small stuff, so no worries here. She has been allowing me to run in the fenced in yard. I just LOVE it. It has been so long since I was able to play outside without a leash on! Mom says I am still the perfect lady. I do not jump on anyone, have no accidents in the house and can stay uncrated and not mess with a thing. My all time favorite thing is a back scratch. So be ready to laugh cause when you scratch my back...I do a little dance and wiggle and jiggle and sometimes my back end just slides out from underneath me. I am not so sure it's all that funny but my foster family loves when it happens. Mom says I have to tell you my 1 'issue'......yes everyone has at least 1 but Mom says I have to be completely honest....so here it is.....I do not care to much for dogs being near me in a fence. I like them out of the fence just not with a fence between us. We are working on that everyday and I do walk away when Mom corrects me and says LEAVE IT BLOSSOM. I want Mom to be pleased with me so I do as I am asked. She understands something from my former life caused me to be like this and she understands that with a little help I can get over it. OK.....now back to the good stuff.......I am packing as we speak...I come fully ready to settle in and only need some food, treats and most of all love [and a good back scratch] in return I can offer you complete unconditional love. But you have to fill out my application to get in the line to adopt me! Hurry and get it done!


5-28-08 Hello new family.....its me the love of your life Renata Blossom. I am almost done with my heartworm treatments then I will be ready to pack my toys and be on my way to your house. I am a sweet girl with very good manners. I don't jump even when I get excited and very seldom bark. I like to play and snuggle and I am house trained. No accidents for this lady. I am content to hang out on my bed or my foster skin brothers bed and play with my toys. He has this wood entertainment center with shelves in front of one of his bedroom windows......he put a pillow on one of the shelves and I can slip right up there and lay on my pillow and look outside all I want to. He makes me feel like a queen!! I am good with kids of all ages but, I think if I were given a chance I may chase your cat!! They don't have a cat here but the neighbor does and I get very excited when I see her and try to take off. But that darn leash is so SHORT! My only 'issue' is I do not like dogs in a fence. Don't ask...I don't know. Its just one of those things. But outside a fence I like most anybody. Just hate a fence between us. I take corrections when Mom says 'Leave it, Blossom' I walk away like a good girl. I even made friends with the GRUMPY male Boxer that lives here. Mom says if he and I can get along I can live with any dog and be fine! Enough about me. Could you go ahead and fill out your application so I can look it over and see if you are the family I have been waiting my whole life for?

4-10-08 Renata Blossom here. Yes, I am still just hanging out and enjoying life. My foster mom says there is one word for me, SWEET! No clue what that means but she kisses and hugs me when she says it so I love that word! I am continuing my heartworm treatments and will be finished soon. Then my foster mom says we will start to work really hard on my manners. I am almost completely housebroken and walk fairly well on my leash. I love to go for rides in the car. My favorite thing though....is my foster skin sister. She loves me so much and lets me snuggle with her at night. I can do that real well. She is still calling me a 'bed hog'. I still have no idea what that is! But it can't be all bad cause I am still there every night! Snuggled as close as possible and she even wraps me up and shares her pillow! I don't bark very much and NEVER jump on anyone. Mom says I am going to perfect for both young and old. So I am going to be ready for you soon........what are you waiting for? Fill out the adoption forms and lets get this thing moving!
