Boo has Wobblers.... :`(

No miracle this time

Well, we went to the neurosurgeon yesterday, and the news wasn't good. They said that merely attempting an MRI could exacerbate his condition, so why would I agree to it? I came home, crying all the way. I spoke to Boo's regular vet and he feels the best thing to do is to keep him on pain meds as long as he remains comfortable. Once I see that he is struggling or suffering, then I 'd need to make the decision to put him down. I am still looking into holistic healing - I don't think it can hurt and am desperate for anything that can help.

I've had another great dane that lived to be almost 9, which is pretty good for a dane. But Boo is only 3. Now I know why they call them the heartbreak breed...It's never easy to let go, but at this age it just seems cruel.

For now, I just plan on loving him even more than I already have - which I didn't think was possible. I went out and bought him so many new toys & bones, but he doesn't seem interested...

I don't know if I'll ever understand why this happened....

Oh my goodness, I am SO very sorry to hear about Boo. I think your plan to love him even more (if that's possible) and give him the best life possible (again, like you're not already?) will help you as much as it will help him. I wish I had some magic or something to send you. I've been on Dogster since last December and it's always very sad when an older dog dies, but this is truly heartbreaking. I wish you nothing but the best and as much time as possible with your beloved Boo. He is completely adorable.
