Arrival Story:
I had just lost my previous German Shepherd 'Cleo', & a work colleague offered me his female German Shepherd. He didn't want her anymore, & had a younger male German Shepherd he preferred. Tasman was 7 years old. I went to see Tasman at her home & arranged to pick her up the following week when I started my Holidays. I wanted to be able to spend time with her so that we could get to know each other in the 4 weeks I had for Holidays. I picked Tassie up & we drove to her new home. She was comfortable & seemed happy as we drove home together. I think she knew that she had found her 'Furrever Home' :)

Bio:
From the day Tasman came home I treated her like a Queen - she deserved that. She was a beautiful dog with a happy disposition and was very friendly. Children & Adults had no fear of coming right up to her & asking for a pat, which she liked. Some of our best days were spent at the Beach, she loved walking in the shallow water with me & playing tug with her Kong. Tasman & I only had 3 1/2 short years together. She was off her food one day, so I took her to the Vet. They found some cancerous lumps & said they would operate. We spent that week together constantly, she was happy & showed no signs of being unwell. On the day of her operation I told the Vet, "If you can't give her back to me for at least 6 mths, then let her go peacefully". I wouldn't have coped if she came home, knowing she only had a few short months to live. It would have torn me apart. I received a phone call from the Vet to tell me that Tassie had cancer throughout her body, and they believed she would have only lived for another 2 weeks, if that. So they respected my wishes and let her go to 'Rainbow Bridge'. My beautiful Tasman was gone, but did not have to endure any pain, had she come home with me that day. Tasman was my 'soul mate'. There will never be another dog like her. We had a special bond that only other Owner's would understand. Tasman is buried at a Pet Cemetary in a plot next to Nicholas :) Rest In Peace
