A bark, a yip, a howl

Today is my second Gotcha Day!

Today is my second Gotcha Day! Just two years ago mom and Gwen drove over to Atlanta Pet Rescue to meet me and then I came home with them. Mamie and Vi both went to the bridge in the same week and although she said she was going to wait a couple of months for another fur she caved. Yep, I'm that cute and irresistible.

So, at my forever home, I had lots of household items to chew on and destroy (windowsills, remotes, boom boxes, rugs and shoes). And a yard in which to dig lots of holes. I'm better now about the chewing thing...but worse about the digging thing. I'm a Terrier for goodness sake...that's my JOB!

So, I have a great life and a great home and a great big sis (who is actually half my size...that doesn't quite make sense). Oh happy day!!!!!!

Yesterday, 7/11/2010 was my first Gotcha Day anniversary! Whoo hoo! I was adopted from Atlanta Pet Rescue at 8 months old. I now have a forever home, a mom and a great big sister,Gwen (well, she's my big sister but she's smaller than I am.Go figure).

Anyway, Mom buyed me a bunch of Gotcha Day presents! Here is what she buyed me, along with my reviews:
--Spa day at Wagalot Daycare--Four paws up!(www.wagalot.com)
--Spa day includes a bath--Two paws down.
--Bruster's ice cream--Four paws up.
--Squeaky toy (with four different types of sounds)--Four paws up and a tail.
--Furminator brush--FOUR PAWS DOWN.

Overall though I came up in the pawsitive numbers. Oh yeah, I forgot that I got to lick the yogurt container.

The best of both worlds

I love spring! However, I can't decide whether or not to go outside with Gwennie, or stay on the porch with Mom. Soooo....I'm standing *inside* the doggie door with my head and front paws on the outside, and back legs on the porch. A nice compromise, I believe.

How did she know?

I came to Mom to be pet this morning. I had food on my head. She asked me, "Gretchen, have you been in the garbage?" How did she know?

(I didn't cave, though. I just stared back. No admission. I plead the 5th.)

My blue tooth

Yes, everyfur, I am blue-tooth enabled! While Mom was in the shower last night, I went straight for the blue roller ball gel pen on the living room end table. (Hah, she should know better than to leave it there.) When she got out of the shower I was on Gwen's bunkie in the bedroom chewing it...I had a blue face and a blue beard and 2 big blue paws! In fact, I left big blue paw prints on the hardwoods, and then went in the bathroom and put some on the tile floor, too. Mom wiped me down (I didn't like that) very quickly before I got back in the living room. Apparently she didn't want me to decorate the rest of the house, which disappointed me somewhat. I didn't even get a pic, as I got cleaned up so fast.

I like my blue tooth. And on next year's Bark Like a Pirate Day I can be blue beard! Gretchen

The toast

Mom was making toast for breakfast this morning. Of course, I had to go in the kitchen and help her. Guess what? The toast popped out but flew up in the air and onto the floor! Right in front of me! It was a gift from the heavenly dogs! Yum! It didn't have peanut butter on it as I had hoped, but it was still good, if a little dry. I like this toaster!

And, in other snack news. Mom has found me with the DVR remote twice. She hides it when she's gone but I stole it off the ottoman yesterday and the day before. She found me in my bunky with the remote between my paws, getting ready to chow down. I guess you could say I was caught red-pawed. She now has to keep the remotes high up 27/7. I think Gwennie ratted on me, if you ask me.

Gretchen, licking toast crumbs off her lips.

I have discovered a new delicacy...

A new snack, that I would highly recommend, is something called clogs. They are very tasty indeed. And these were not just regular clogs, but Danskos that are black and embroidered with beautiful colors. The mixture of fabric and leather...with a hint of rubber...was divine! Earthy overtones with a slight sweetness at the finish.

Mom says since I just got part of the back we may be able to salvage them. I didn't get to finish them off the same way I did the famous zebra print mules, so that was a bit disappointing. However, since it's easy to gain weight during the holidays, it may have been better that I just had a taste. I don't want to ruin my girlish figure.

Does anyone know how many calories are in 1/8 of a clog? Gretchen

OMD, my first tag!

Wow, my new friend, Maebe tagged me. I’m new at this, but I love to play chase so this is a perfect thing for me. It would only be better if you could put peanut butter on it.
Maebe says I have to answer some questions and then play tag with six of my buds. I’m putting my thinking cap, er, collar on and am ready to answer.

1. What color is your collar?
I’ve got a mosaic thing going on…black background with purple, green, orange and really fun colors. I had it on at the shelter but it’s very stylish and suits me. I think I’ll keep it.

2. What kind of food do you eat?
Natural Balance Salmon and Rice—allergy formula. It’s tasty. And I have itchy skin, so this is supposed to help. All that matters is that I get some twice a day.

3. What are your favorite treats?

What’s not to love about treats? Let’s see, so many treats, so little time. Yogurt treats, sweet taters, chicken jerky. Do you have any more suggestions?

4. Do you have a Valentine or significant other?
I’m a bit young to date right now. I’ll let you know when Mom says its’ OK.

5. Do you get table scraps?
I’m not supposed to, but I did get some rice and a morsel of chicken the other night. I’m hoping that will become a regular thing.

6. What is your favorite toy?
I get bored with toys and have to swith ‘em up. My favorite one day isn’t necessarily my favorite the next day. So far I seem most loyal to my blue stuffed sheepie. It makes a cool noise. It’s even more cool when I can squeeze it at 3 AM and wake Mom and Gwen up.

7. When is your birthday?
I was born sometime around November 2008. Mom chooses to make my barkday November 9, as that was the day she found Violet (may she rest in peace).

8. How many times a day do you eat?
Two.

9. Do you have a favorite color?
Since my fur is earth tones: brown, black and some silver/white, I can wear most anything. I like the color of FOOD.
10. Do you hope all your pals put this in their diary?
Yes, yes. By the way, this is my first diary entry.

I will tag: Seamus, Loki, Norman, Crystal, Sydney and Lexey
