Likes:
She loves to play frisbee and fetch. Or make my people throw toys over and over, as she calls it. She also loooves ice cubes. just the sound of the ice maker sends her into a frenzy.

Pet-Peeves:
The dreaded vacuum cleaner, which seems to be universal. Oh, and anyone who dares to ring the doorbell.

Favorite Toy:
A pink Wubba canvas wrapped octopus looking thing. It was her first toy, and is still intact. we call it "baby" and she will get it if we ask for "baby"

Favorite Food:
Schatzie only eats Nutro puppy food, a daily Greenie, and for treats, Charlie Bears. But once, she did get a lick of ice cream....:)

Favorite Walk:
Anywhere outside. She loves to go outside. One of her favorite games is ring the potty bells and make my peeps let me out, then come back in and do it again. and again. and again.

Best Tricks:
She can sit, lay, play dead bug, shake, dance (newest trick, and she's a good dancer, great gams), and stay. and come, if she feels like it.treat or not.

Arrival Story:
We were looking for a Schnauzer puppy for a couple of years. We really wanted to get a pup for our older German Shepherd, we thought maybe it would remind him of puppyhood. Alas, by the time we found Schatzie, Francis, our Shepherd, had become terminally ill, and shortly after finding Schatzie, we had to put him to sleep. He was 15 yrs old and became paralyzed. She came from a great family who had bred their Schnauzer for the first time. She had lots of socialization from this big family. Her mom is from Mexico and not registered, but pure bred. Her dad is registered. She was the biggest pup in the litter of 6 and we got her at 8 weeks.

Bio:
Schatzie is the light of our life! She got us through a very difficult time when we had to put our beloved Francis down just a couple of months after we got her. She has had some puppy training classes, but doesn't walk well on a leash, she kind of walks us. But she is very smart and knows lots of tricks. But she has taught us more tricks than we have taught her.

We recently submitted a question on Dogster re frequent vomiting. Schatzie has vomited easily/frequently since she we got her. Unfortunately, she eats it immediately, so unless we actually see it happen, we don't know she did it. Makes it hard to track how often and under what circumstances. We are very careful about her diet. She never (almost never) gets people food. I admit to an occasional bit of a piece of popcorn. and she has licked an ice cream cone once. only once. We got a lot of good answers, but ultimately I changed her food. We switched to Halo puppy Spots Stew. She loves it, and other than burping after she eats, and the occasional toot, I see no problems. I haven't seen her vomit once in the last 5 days, since we switched. I did slow down on the greenies, now about 2-3 times a week. No poop changes either. I am aware of predisposition for pancreas disorders in Schnauzers and also skin conditions. So I'm a little concerned that the content of the food ultimately could be a problem. But according to the people at Petco, Halo is supposed to be a far superior food than Nutro, good for sensitive tummys. keeping our fingers crossed.
