Arrival Story: Update 9/9/09: Tommy has been adopted and is now in his wonderful forever home!! Tommy was adopted from a rural shelter in Kentucky in April of 2008 and his new owner was going to use him in a "petting zoo". However, 11 months later Tommy found himself back in the same shelter when he was returned by what was supposed to be his new family. Tommy was depressed, lonely and afraid and sat in his kennel for almost 3 1/2 months, probably wondering what he did wrong that got him returned, and was overlooked by potential adopters. His photo and writeup on petfinder had caught the eye of his current foster mom and she just couldn't get him out of her head. So Tommy is now in New Jersey as a foster dog with Rogers' Rescues and will soon be available for adoption to what will hopefully now be his real forever family!
Bio: While he may have been depressed & lethargic in the shelter, Tommy has been anything but since arriving in foster care! His tail never stops wagging and this boy is SOOO sweet! He loves everyone he meets and gets along with the 4 other dogs and the cat in his foster home. (although he will chase the cat if she runs; once she stops running he doesn't bother her). Tommy's looking forward to becoming someone's constant companion.
