I'm a vegetarian....?

So some black cows with big, mournful eyes reminded Mom of me and now neither of us gets to eat meat or eggs or dairy anymore. Well, except whatever tasty treats I can find on the sidewalk. Got a couple chicken nuggets the other day--I'm sneaky!

It's not so bad. Sometimes my kibble is homemade and I really like that, but Natural Balance is okay, especially with a little tomato sauce or pumpkin. I could do without the grated carrots, but they're too much trouble to eat around.

And I love homemade vegan dog biscuits! Except when Mom takes a bite out of them before she gives them to me...

New Nickname: Gap-Tooth

So, today was ruff. I was at the vet all day to have surgery.

Monday night, I was playing tug of war with Dakota, the neighbor German Shepherd Dog. She gave one final yank on that ivy vine and ouch! My tooth came all apart! One of the little front teeth on top. There was one piece that broke off, and we found out today when the vet took it out that the rest had a horizontal fracture, plus a vertical fracture that went all the way past the gum line. No wonder I didn't want to show anyone--I barely let Mom or the vet see it.

I was so happy to see Mom tonight! And happy to get home! I just wanted to run and eat and jump! Who knows why Mom kept wanting to stop me...though I did keep feeling like there was this sleepy dog living inside me who kept trying to be my boss...but I said, "No way!!" Until I finally got Mom to walk me, then sleepy dog took over and made me lay down and moan and groan until I finally went to sleep.

That was a good game with Dakota, though; totally worth it. She's my BFF.
