Likes: Getting his butt rubbed ( he does a little jig!)
Pet-Peeves: meeting dogs that are bigger than him!
Favorite Toy: A stuffed ducky
Favorite Food: He eats Blue Buffalo Lamb and Rice, but he LOVES peanut butter
Favorite Walk: A jaunt around the neighborhood suits him just fine
Best Tricks: Wave hello, bow, turn right, shake, speak, no peeking (he puts his paws up on your arm and ducks his head under)
Arrival Story: I actually went to the humane society because I saw a husky posted on their website and I was searching for one. Only when we got to the shelter, the husky was already called for. :( (But I'm happy he found a home!) My sister and I took a walk around to look at the other dogs since we were there anyway. Rui was so cute, we took him out for about 15 minutes and fell in love with him. Unfortunately, the shelter was closing and they also have a policy that all family members and pets have to be there to be considered for adoption. It took us 3 whole days to convince my mom that he was just right, and to get everyone there. Those 3 days were the most nerve-wrecking 3 days I've ever spent! XD I count my blessings that he was still there when we went back. We adopted him that day.
Bio: Rui is such a nice dog, I'm not sure why he was given up to the shelter; he has no behavioral problems at all that I've found. He was 1 yr and 6 months when we got him, so I gues that makes him going on 3 now!
Mom swears that every time she goes on vacation, something happens to one of us pups!
When my husky brudder was a baby still, he slipped past our neighbor's legs into his basement, and went to town on the rat potion box (I think I told you guyz this).
Well, this time Me, Cal, Anya, and my big sis Savannah stayed home with human gramma (Aero and husky brudder stayed with two of mom's coworkers-I heard they had the time of their lives!! Aero had lots of land to run on, and Tekoa went hiking up in Wisconsin!! I'm so jealous!)
Well, towards the end of my time alone with human gramma, she was walking me outside, and I got one of my toenails caught on something. I cried and yanked it free before gramma could even think of what to do. Gramma told mom what happened but when mom got home she saw that my toenail was turned 90 degrees to the side and bleeding near the base.
Mom could tell I was in pain cuz I was limping and licking it.
So I had to go to the evil man in the white coat. . .=_=
He told mom that I might've fractured my toe (mom knew I hadn't cuz otherwise, I wouldn't have been standing on that foot at all right?!), but just to be safe, she let the dogter take an x-ray. Needless to say, I was fracture free!
The dogter finally saw the bleeding near the base of my nail, and that it was cracked. So finally he came to the conclusion that mommy had brought me to the vet for originally: to cut the bad nail off.
Mom wasn't able to be with me back there. I was so scared that I. . . . . . .
. . . . .
. . . . .
Okay, I'll admit it!
X( I peed on myself o-_-o
None too proud of that.
But the nice dogters gave me a bath to freshen me back up.
They cut the nail pretty close to the bed, but not all the way. Mom was thinking that the nail would just grow back from there.
But eventually, the whole nail came off.
Where my toenail was is now just a fleshy, raw stub.
So now mom is wondering if my nail will even grow back at all.
I don't think I'd mind only have 3 nails on my foot, but mom doesn't seem too happy. She says she loves me through and through, she just feels it's a shame that I had to endure this.
It's not gramma's fault that I misplaced my foot, but I think mom wonders what will happen when she takes her next vacation. . . . .
I don't want to tell her that it's our secret mission to keep mom at home all the time! ^_~
