On the spur of the minute, as I was driving by the pound in Shawnee, Ok(I NEVER go to the pounds) it occured to me that I should stop just to see what was there. And there were tons of VERY cute pups, and in the corner away from everyone, was the P.T.S. pen. All I could really see, was that this very small black and tan dog huddled in the corner had a cleft pallet.....about a year before that, I lost my beloved little Rita Mae who also had a cleft pallet. The attendant at the pound told me to enter the kennel at my own risk, as the dogs in it were to be put to sleep for biting. Of course, I wasn't going to let a little thing like that keep me from saviing this little dog. I gave her my back, didn't look her in the eye, and waited. Soon enough, a cold wet nose touched my elbow.......she left with me that day......the attendant looked a little surprised.
Bio:
Although Widgette didn't get to live out her life as I would have wished.......every day she was alive, she lived her life to the fullest. Although she was housed in a small body, she was the biggest dog I have ever seen.
