Hi everyone....I am Rocco's foster Mom and thought I would do his next update. Rocco is a young [around 1 year] white male Boxer with beautiful blue eyes. He is just the sweetest boy in the world. This boy is full of energy and we are working on controlling it! He is also learning his hand signs. Right now he knows sit, and walk [as in time to go out] and is working on stay. He also knows the sign for NO! That one he knows really well :) His house training is almost finished to the point of very few accidents. Rocco walks fairly well on a leash but sometimes he does think the leash is a tug of war toy and I must admit that I sometimes play tug of war with him! I know that's bad but he is so cute and so funny doing it that I have to give in sometimes! He is also good at going outside in the fence and running and playing fetch with the other boxers here. Roc will chase our cat and catches her sometimes but only to lick her as he holds her down. She is also known to chase him or sneak up on him and latch on to a leg and he has yet to try to hurt her. He is a very special boy that deserves a home of his own.
Now onto his special needs. Rocco is a white boxer so his time outside in the day has to be limited or he will get sunburned. He can wear sunscreen. But he gets his walks and outside playtime early morning and late afternoon and evenings. He does love it outside! Rocco is also deaf. As his foster Mom, I would prefer he go to a home with another dog. This gives him a set of ears to help him hear, as he will follow the other dogs lead for a lot of things. He will already know some signs when he goes on to his permanent home and all that's required with that is that you use those signs when you speak to him. I do the signs and also speak. All of my dogs will respond to the hand sign for sit and stay because I do use the hand sign and also speak it. Deaf dogs are really no more work then hearing dogs. There are several good websites that you can visit to learn more on deaf dogs and I would also be happy to answer any questions you may have also. Roc is a "normal" dog...he just hears things in a different way, that's all. Yes, he is special....all rescue dogs are special. Please consider Rocco for your family. I promise it will be one of the best decisions you have ever made!

Wanted: Family for the cutest young, male, white boxer you have ever seen. It's me Rocco! Look deeply in my sparkling blue eyes and I promise you will fall completely head over heels in love! Now that I have you under my spell let me tell you about myself. I am around a year old and full of energy! I am in a new foster home now and it's a zoo here! I live with 4 other boxers and this gray fuzzy thing that Mom calls a cat! So far I get along fine with all the other boxers and I do like to chase the cat but just for fun! But let me tell you something that crazy cat chases me too! I am not to happy about my crate but I will go in when you tell me too and I only cry a little [yes, even big dogs cry sometimes]. I LOVE toys and I will play fetch with you for as long as you can stand it. And guess what....I love baths! I even jumped in the bathtub with my foster Mom the other night. She didn't seem too happy about it but I loved it! She told me everyone here takes baths ALONE! Well I don't like to do anything alone....maybe she will change her mind. She did tell me she would get me something called a life jacket and I could try swimming with the kids in the pool! I can't wait! Anyway, I am a sweet boy looking for a great family....could that be you?
I almost forgot! Don't be concerned about that label some crazy person put under my picture that says "special needs"! I am deaf but learning hand signs. I already know sit, walk, and I am learning stay. That's a hard one! Oh, and I know the sign for NO Rocco! So my needs are pretty simple....I need another dog to hear for me and be my companion and a family that wants a handsome Boxer who just hears commands in a different way!

Hi everyone! Rocco here! I'm new to BRBR and just learning my way
around, but I sure am excited to be living inside! You see before I
was chained up outside and had a shock collar aorund my neck. I also
didn't get alot of food to eat, so my foster mom is trying to fatten
me up. (That means lots of good food and yummy treats!) I like to
play and interact with the other dogs, BUT I don't like it when they
get near my food or water bowl. So I need to be fed seperately
please.
My foster mom also says I'm very special because I can't hear! I'm
learning hand signals for sit, outside, no, and good! ( This also
means lots of yummy treats!) Because I've always lived outside I'm
still working on that pottying outside thing, but I think I've almost
got in figured out...
I am a very sweet boy so if you think that you would like to adopt me
and teach me hand signals; I promise to give you lots of unconditional
love and affection!!!
