Woo Hoo, Shasta here, I am so excited I can't hardly contain myself. While I love my foster home I want a fur-ever home of my own.
I promise to be your very best friend. I am such a good girl that I know all of my obedience commands. I do need reminding on
how to "heel on lead", I just get so excited about walks that I want to go and go and go.... I enjoy being with the other dogs here but
they get a little bossy with me and won't let me be the boss of anything. Sometimes I don't like that and will let them know but we've
never really had a fight, just a few arguments. There is a cat here too and boy oh boy, do I wish he would try to run. I want to chase him
so bad so unless you have an old cat that is too tired to run, having a young one would not be a good idea for me. I am a really good
girl, I am completely housebroken and crate trained (although I don't like it). I love to cuddle and am perfect "cuddling size", I only
weigh 32 lbs and am very small. My mom is a purebred boxer but I never met my dad.
I have one issue that limits the type of home I can go to. It's not always a bad problem but I tend to be protective of my home and my
family. I just don't want anyone trying to hurt you, that's what best friends do, right? Because of this, I should not go to a family with
small children. I only run up to strangers and bark but to people that don't know me, they get scared. They don't realize that if they
just ignore me or pet me I am fine. It takes me a few minutes to learn who is welcome in our home after that, I'll be their best
friend too.
You can never have too many best friends, so why don't you be mine and I'll be your's. Love, Shasta

Hi, my name is Shasta and I am back with BRBR after being gone since I was a
puppy last summer. I am
now one year old. I am a very special girl or at least that is what I keep
being told. I was born in a shelter
to a purebred boxer mom. My dad was a traveling man and we do not know who
(what) he is. I was the only
puppy born and my mom did not want to take care of me. Since I was raised
by the wonderful foster home
I was in but did not have littermates to grow up with, I am a little unsure
on how to interact with other dogs.
I try my best to be the boss but if they won't let me, I get mad and
although I don't fight, I do get snappy at
them. My foster home now has 4 other dogs and a cat. I am getting along
with everyone now. I am even
playing with the little Boston Terrier. We still have our arguments over
who is the leader of the games of
chase but I've been told not to worry about her, she argues with everyone.
I find the cat a bit fascinating because
he completely ignores me but I can guarantee if we were outside, the chase
would definitely be on. I would
love to be able to chase the squirrels and rabbits.
I am a very smart girl and highly trained. I know how to walk on leash like
a lady. I also know sit, down, stay,
to ring a bell to go potty and also know some hand signals. I am
housebroken and will go in my crate on my
own to get a treat. I don't like the crate but I don't fight to get out. I
am a very tiny girl at only 30 lbs. I am
a bit apprehensive of strangers and will bark to alert you; however, I am
learning that strangers are not bad
people. I am a bit of a counter surfer but since I am so small, I can
barely see what is up there. I will do
best in a home that gives me firm guidelines and does not let me do whatever
I want to. Because of this,
a home without small children will probably be best for me. I will probably
do well in a home with another
dog as long as it has patience with me. A cat will probably be fine too as
long as the cat is not scared of
dogs and does not run from me.
If you are looking for a small dog for perhaps an apartment or just a small
cuddle buddy, I am your girl! I am
sweet and eager to please. I will do anything for a tummy rub.
