Arrival Story:
I have always had cats. Pretty cats. Long haired, short haired...kittens...boys and girls. Somehow they either ran away, were given away or simply left me. lol. Cats, in my opinion have a "I dont give a shit attitude" and this is from personal experience. I guess I thought all animals were the same. Right? I got some birds, they are caged and I cant really handle them but they are pretty. My fish are cool, they follow my finger around the tank and seem to be pretty content.
Untill one day my opinion on dogs and all animals changed when I got my first dog. One that is ALL MINE. I was up at 4am, couldn't sleep and got on Craigslist to "look around" I check out collectibles, arts and crafts...then PETS.
There was a touching story how the family could not care for their dog anymore, $45 rehomeing fee, Hmmmmmm?....I thought $45? Is that a lot??? Is that the going rate? I dont know. was I looking for something "free"?...well, i thought "lemme scroll down and see the pic of this $45 pup with a sad story" and there SHE was "Piper" was her name listed by the former owners and IT WAS LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT!
I had to have her! I emailed the owners at 4:30am I was actually all excited and hoping they still had her...I told my kids that morning as they were getting ready for school "We may get a dog today!!"...I showed the children the story and pic and they got excited too.
At 7am I heard back from the owners ((who are very nice by the way)) we exchanged some questions, numbers and by 11am Piper was back at home with me. When I got her from the owners it all happened so fast like 3 minutes exchange the dog and cash...like some doggie drug deal? when I brought her in the car she was wimpering, crying, struggling in my arms looking at all the cars for her old owners! I was so upset too! I was hugging her telling her Im gonna take good care of her but she was shivering, wimpering and the whole ride home I thought...what did I do? She dont like me! She missed her owners! I dont know how to take care of a dog, I dont even have dog food! Akkkkk! I was frantic, she was frantic. When I got back home she ran all over the apartment freaking out, barking at the birds, sniffing...I took her for a long walk. We talked and she got tired.
When I got back she fell asleep on my lap. Once she woke up from that nap she really was curious about me. Followed me, LOVES to be carried and petted and loves when I comb her hair. I bathed her, dressed her and prepared her to meet the kids. She loved them! Never a growl or bark to any of the family.
Now she is the light of out life...she has about 15 dresses, hairbows, carriers that match my clothing and I take her everywhere with me. She is always at my feet and sleeps with the children at night. but everynight at 3am she sneaks in with me :)
I never knew what a dog lover I was??? I am surprised at myself! I LOVE DOGS! I didnt know how different dogs are then cats?? My BELLA ((we renamed her from Piper)) is all about LOVE LOVE LOVE 24/7. She wants to sit on my lap, play with the kids be part of all we do even clean. When I sweep she chases after the broom and chases the little things i sweep up. When I shower she waits in the bathroom, when I am putting on my makeup she knows Im going somehwhere! Shes smart!
I believe she is a "schnoodle" or yorkie poo? I dont know...what I know is that she got the cutest little face, sweetest little heart . She has no attitude...never mad, dont hold grudges, wants to obey and serve. She is just a precious sweet doggie that I love.
I wish I got a dog years ago! I was missing out and had no idea!

My sweet 2 year old BELLA is a "schnoodle"...part schnauzer and mini poodle she is only 7 pounds. I could not find the right combination as a description, lol
