How did I get to 12?

Well, it was my birthday on the weekend and I turned 12. I am a bit creaky now and cranky sometimes because it hurts to go up and down the stairs. My people take really good care of me though and I am walked and loved up every day. Right now I look like an exploding q-tip 'cause I am shedding my double coat. I will have a nice new one for fall!!

We have a new house again and there is no grass in the back yard - which is good because grass makes me itchy. I have a garden to use as a bathroom and I get a nice walk and belly rubs every day. My sis-fur bugs me sometimes but we like to play still.

Hope it won't be so long before I update next time. :)

I hate nail cutting!

Well, I used to think it was okay to get lots of treats and have my nails trimmed but not any more!

Now I make such a fuss that Mommy and Daddy can't do it themselves any more so I have to go to the vet. The last time Daddy was holding me and the vet was trimming my nails and I had a really bad thing happen - I pooped! Good thing it missed Daddy's shirt and just went on the floor. I was really really upset. Did I say I was upset? Really, really. The next time my Mom came too and it went much better because she held my cute as a button face and fed me treats while they trimmed my nails. It was over fast and I sighed a lot but then when I got home, I just had to have a nap. Well, now bad things happened again. Daddy took me to the vet and it was not our usual vet and Mommy was at work and could not come. Daddy and the new vet cut my nails but I did not want them to so I struggled and screamed. The new vet does not like shiba screams and said he hoped the other vet would be back the next time we came he could enjoy it instead. Hrumph! This time I was so scared I struggled and scratched my Daddy's arms all up and hurt his ears with the noise. He says next time Mommy has to be there and we want the usual vet who knows I won't bite and cuts my nails fast fast! Whew, I better go have a nap by the fireplace, my spot is getting cold now.

Five Years with Mommy!

This past Saturday was a momentous occasion, I have been in my forever home for five whole years. I am a good boy most days now and really enjoy going for walks and getting treats. I would rather have a good belly rub than chase a ball! My puppy-poppa took me to the Arboreateum so I could run around loose and have fun. Miko had to stay on the leash or he would run away but I don't. We played hide and seek and everything. It was a lot of fun and I had to sleep a lot after. Life is good.

I should tell you I was a birthday gift 5 years ago. I was only 9 weeks old and did not know how to go up and down stairs very well but I had really good care and learned a lot.
