Arrival Story:
After years of agonizing over whether Simon would accept another dog into the pack, I applied to English Springer Rescue America and was matched with Murphy. We loaded up Simon and made the 3-hour drive to meet Murphy at his foster mom's house. The meeting went well and I decided that I wanted to bring Murph home.

Bio:
Murphy had been a stray before he was pulled into the breed rescue and had only been in foster care for six weeks when we adopted him. So he was still in rough shape. He was under weight, his coat had been shaved down to nothing, his fur was discolored, he was extremely shy (especially with my boyfriend), and didn't like us to give him too much close, physical affection. It took a good 6-8 months before Murphy "came into his own," and became truely comfortable with everyone in the pack. He now lets us hug him and he seeks out affection from us. He's a teddy bear!
