Arrival Story:
My husband and I always wanted a dog in our lives, we just didn't know when would be a good time to adopt one. We arrived to a small group Bible study a little early so while we waited for the others to arrive, a friend took us next door to her neighbor's house where her dog just had puppies. It was love at first sight and we just knew that one of these little bundles of fur would be going home with us in the future. After visiting the puppies several times and observing their behaviors, my husband John picked up a little puppy and plopped her on my lap and asked, "What about THIS one?" She was so sweet, licking my hand, and eventually sleeping in my lap. That puppy was Shiley. She's been a part of our family ever since and we love her so much.

Bio:
Shiley was born in Georgia and has moved and traveled with her parents across the country. Her biological parents were named Bernard and Angel.

IT'S FALL!! OH BOY, OH BOY!

I love the cooler weather. I don't pant from the summer heat, and feel more playful. Mom's been trying to think of what me and Chloe should be for Halloween this year. I have a pirate costume that I don't mind (I just don't like wearing the hat so much). Speaking of pirates, I got a really cool pirate flag on my page from the family of Izzy & Rosie. Thanks guys!! It made my day!

I've been helping my parents around the house with projects. I'm an awesome supervisor. Mom's been learning more massage techniques for animals and I have been her willing participant to practice on. BOL!

I wonder if other doggie friends of mine are enjoying their fall so far too, and are planning on dressing up for Halloween. I'd love to hear about what you'll wear.

Later!!

I've been helping my Mommy in her studies lately. She points to my different bones and names them. I think it's tickle-ish! She says the more she practices, the better she gets at learning the different bones, joints, and muscles in dogs.

I got a heart rosette from my friend Dayzee. How sweet is that? Thank you, Dayzee! My Grammie H visited us for a week and that was fun. I have also helped my Mommy plant a garden in the corner of the backyard. I saw her digging, so I dug right beside her. Wasn't that nice of me? BOL! I'm looking forward to fall. It's still pretty hot here.

Great News!

My Mommy just enrolled at the Northwest School of Animal Massage, so her new career being an animal massage therapist is now beginning. I'm happy for her. She has given me lots of massages and I love them. They have helped my hips. I was told when I was really little that I had the onset of hip dysplasia, but with Glucosamine tablets (I take twice a day) and Mommy's massages, you'd never know. I know the word "massage" too and my ears perk up when I hear it. I get into my position and lie down in front of my Mommy. Sometimes I close my eyes it's so relaxing. I suppose I'll let my Mommy practice on me as she's learning new techniques. SOMEBODY has to be the guinea pig. BOL!
