Arrival Story:
Storm is my "be careful what you wish for" dog. I have allergies, so I cannot have dogs unless they are specific breeds b/c of the hair. I wanted a blue Standard Poodle male. I was traveling cross-country, and I stopped at a poodle breeder's in AL to stay for a couple of days. She had puppies there, but I wasn't planning to adopt and none "seemed right", anyway. I loved one of her sires and one of her dams, and asked her about breeding the two, b/c they might produce a blue male. She didn't plan to breed them anytime soon. The week I was there, she bred the sire I liked with another one of her bitches. I drove away wishing for a blue male. 10 weeks later, the puppies were born. Eight weeks later, she announced that two of the black male puppies were blues (not blacks). In order to produce the blue males, the sire and dam had to go back 2-3 generations for the genetics. Several other coincidences later, and after a great deal of rationalization :-) I became the owner of one 10-week old blue male. We fit the first moment we met (see last picture of the photos). He can be the most annoying dog in the world but I love him with all my heart. He has his father's attitude and his (doggie) mom's super intelligence, which makes him a challenge, particularly when he "talks" back!
