This morning I was taken for a car ride and left. That is how I saw it anyway. I could tell Auntie mom didn't want to leave me there though. I got to the vet's office and I was weighed. A whopping 18.9 pounds at only 6 months and Pippin weighs 20 pounds at 3 years! Then I was taken in the back. Pippin told me to avoid "the back", but I didn't have a choice. I got a chewable tablet which I chewed and swallowed without complaint and then two injections. I was put in a big pen with my monkey blanket and my Buddie dog and then Auntie mom lingered for awhile and then left. Dogster friends, you were right. Being away from home was the worst, yet I didn't realize what was to come. I fell asleep snuggled up to my Buddie dog, wondering what I did wrong to be left behind. When I woke up, I was still in this strange place and something didn't feel right. I was in some pain, but the pain didn't generate all to my genitals. I scoot to the back of the pen and stayed there. I didn't eat or drink all day long and even Buddie couldn't take away my home sickness. Auntie mom came at 4 p.m. and when she walked in, I still stayed in the corner. I am mad at Auntie mom and she isn't going to get off easy. The doctor begins explaining all what was done to me. I got neutered and the sutures will dissolve in 5-6 weeks unless they are taken out at 2 weeks. Auntie mom couldn't have kept her mouth shut, because she told the doctor about this small black spot I have on my right leg and when the doctor looked at it, she decided to remove it. She tells Auntie mom that it looked like a blood blister, so she took it off and now I have three sutures in my leg, that needs to come out in two weeks. I got four of my teeth pulled and each hole was closed with one stitch. I need to return in one week for the doctor to look at my teeth to make sure everything is okay and no food gets into the holes. I got my rabies shot and had my toe nails trimmed. I got worked over good and proper and I consider none of it good. I now have to take a half of a pain pill every morning for pain. Now I will know what peanut butter tastes like with a pill hidden inside, but I don't consider that a good thing either. Auntie mom picks me up and takes me out to the car and that is when I go wild. I get up and go around in circles and lick Auntie mom's face like crazy. I decide to forgive her for leaving me after all. I mean, she did come back and that has to count for something. We go straight home and Grandma mom meets me at the door. I am so happy to see her and she is very happy to see me. I am starving, so Grandma mom feeds me an entire container of Chef Michael's food. Grandma mom opens Pippin's food and I eat a few bites of Pippin's too. Auntie mom fills up my bowl with Puppy Chow and in an hour's time, I eat all of that too. Auntie mom refills it and I eat some of that too. I still go on our evening car ride and get a surprise at the park. It is dark, but we see a very small kitten where Auntie mom feeds the cats. The kitten runs as we drive up, but when Auntie mom opens the door to pour out the cat food, the kitten comes running back and tries to get in the car. Auntie mom picks him up and he snuggles up in her shoulder. I keep trying to get to the kitten, but I am told no. I get in a few sniffs anyway and we all go home. Auntie mom beds down the kitten after feeding him and I go find my Buddie dog. He was with me all day and now I won't leave him alone for very long. The doctor said I may sleep more tonight and I have been taking little naps here and there, but always with my best friend, Buddie in my mouth!
Thanks again, Dogster friends, for your love and support.
