I have been keeping myself busy and to the delight of Grandma mom, I sleep very well at night. We had a busy weekend, but a lot of it was fun too. On Friday night, I got to go with the family when they went to do their shopping, so once again, I escaped the torture of being locked inside my crate. Auntie mom says I have separation issues, because one member of my family can be gone for two minutes and when they come back into my sight, I act like they have been gone for years! Pippin and I get a chicken strip sandwich on Friday evening and I get to see a skunk walking on the sidewalk in front of the Neosho Community College! On Saturday, we get a car ride to Pittsburg to buy Pippin some more Chef Michael's can dog food. I get a few cans too, but I am becoming so picky that I don't eat much of anything. Auntie mom just makes sure I have plenty of Puppy Chow in a bowl and I snack on that all day long. After we get the Chef Michael's food, Auntie mom takes us to Lincoln Park and I get out with my new harness and leash. Pippin and I walk around the park for over 30 minutes and I have the time of my life. There is a lot of sticks/limbs down in the park and I kept running around trying to find the best one. Of course the best sticks are always the ones that are bigger than me! We ate at Sonic again, but this time Pippin and I got Chef Michael's instead. Grandma mom feeds us on a fork and we do very well for having no hands. On Saturday afternoon, we went to Iola and we got ice cream at Dairy Queen and got to bark at dozens of squirrels at Riverside Park. That evening, Pippin's mom went to visit her friend, and Pippin got in trouble for getting into the litter box. Which was a scary time on Sunday, when Pippin's tummy looked swollen and he vomited up his Chef Michael's food. We all thought Pippin had a obstructed blockage and we rushed him to the vet's office on Sunday evening. The doctor said there was no blockage, but Pippin's tracheal passage looked infected. Pippin has been coughing/gagging a lot. Grandma mom and I stayed out in the car while Auntie mom, Pippin and his mom went into the vet's clinic. I could see them through the glass doors and I barked the entire time they were inside. Luckily, Pippin only got a shot and then got some pills for his coughing and some pills for infection. Pippin seems to be doing better now, but he is getting the royal treatment for sure! I will be going to the vet's soon to be neutered and I know I am going to be scared. Especially since I have that thing my family calls "separation issues". Auntie mom says I can take my favorite toy with me, but I like to be free and I hate being confined to a cage, even if it is just for the day. It might be okay if I get the royal treatment too.
