Whats that White Stuff - March 2009

Apparently I live in a place where the sun don't shine and the grass doesn't turn green till the spring. The only thing outside our door is this white cold fluffy stuff they call snow. They get shoes and boots and I get to go out in bare feet, whats wrong with this picture. I'll just stay in the house thank you very much.

From what I understand this winter has been a cold one and way to much snow. I like to go out for walks but they don't take me out everyday and when they do the sidewalks are clean enough but man is it cold out there. And it seems that mom doesn't like the cold either cause she gets Tiffany to walk me after school before she gets home.

Well that lasted about a week and a half, the weather has turned again and even Tiff is not taking me out anymore. I have joined mom's band wagon in wishing for spring.

I do get to go for lots of car rides though and we stop at this neat place that I get to go in too. Everyone there is really friendly and they give me treats and mom and I usually walk around the store for 30 minutes. Great exercise and I get to meet the occassional dog and see all the stuff on the shelfs. Kind of cool having a store exclusively for us dogs.

On the last run to the store mom bought this huge box and the man carried it out for her. I suspected it was something for me but I had no idea till we got home. When she pulled it out of the box it was metal and tall and had bars. I really didn't like the looks of this thing. And then like I expected it was set up and I was put in the middle of it and the door closed behind me. They had bought me a kennel that was for indoors.

Mom's excuse was there was too much for me to get into when they weren't home and the crate was too small for me to be in all day. I have to admit the crate was rather claustrophobic and bigger was better. She set it up really nice and put my bed and all my toys in there and it was roomy enough.

I thought this things was just going to be for when they go to work and school but I was wrong. It appears if I pick on the cat to much - in I go. When someone comes to the door - in I go. When I decide I want to wander thoughout the house and they want me to stay in one room - in I go. Bigger is not always better so I am finding out.

But I do get a treat when I go in, and those treats are goooood, so it's not such a bad deal. I've gotten really good now that all they have to say is "in" and I'm there waiting on my bed for my treat. Sometimes I even just go in there to lay down after all its my space and nobody bothers me when I'm in there. That way too the door stays open and I can get up and come out whenever I want. I guess mom was right after all and the kennel was a good idea.
