What Breed of Dogs Are the Paw Patrol? Famous TV Character Facts

Share

Paw Patrol is one of the most popular children’s shows. If you have a child (or even know a child!), you’ve probably heard of it. In fact, we’d bet that you have the theme song memorized. Each dog on the show is unique, and Paw Patrol features several breeds. Initially, the show only had a few dogs. However, they have added quite a few over the years, so let’s take a look at how many Paw Patrol dogs there are.

Paw Patrol Dog Breeds

Here is a list of all the current Paw Patrol characters and their breeds. Some of the breeds are “canon” and have been confirmed, but others are the fans’ best guesses.

As you can see, there are quite a few Paw Patrol breeds. All of the Paw Patrol appear to be purebred dogs except Rocky, who is some sort of Terrier mix.

How Many Paw Patrol Dogs Are There?

There are six primary characters in the Paw Patrol, not counting their human owner, Ryder. However, several other dogs regularly make an appearance depending on where the episode takes place. For instance, Everest regularly shows up in wintery and mountainous places, where her special skills allow her to help with rescues.

Similarly, Tracker lives in the rainforest with another human companion. If the pups ever end up in the rainforest, he is typically there to help. However, that doesn’t happen very often. Recently, there was a “spin-off” of Paw Patrol that involved dinosaurs. When the pups adventure in this area, they are accompanied by a new Dino dog. There is also a new canine named Liberty in the newest Paw Patrol movie, which takes place in the city.

What Kind of Dog Is Liberty?

Liberty is the new dog that appeared only in the new Paw Patrol movie. She is a Dachshund. In the show, she is the “street smart” dog that helps the others navigate the city’s crowded streets, which they aren’t used to.

In real life, Dachshunds are one of the most popular dogs in America. We are surprised one hasn’t appeared in Paw Patrol earlier for this reason. There are various types of Dachshunds, but  Liberty appears to be the long-haired variant.

Conclusion

Paw Patrol is one of the most popular children’s shows out there today. Therefore, you’ve probably seen or heard of it at least once. Most parents probably have the theme song memorized (and we’re betting that it is playing in your head right now). While the show never mentions the breed of each dog, many of them are obvious, based on their appearance. For instance, Chase is absolutely a German Shepherd.
