Based in Long Beach, California, Pawstruck, is a small business specializing in wholesome products for dogs—including dog chews and treats, supplements, and grooming supplies. Since 2014, Pawstruck has been run by fellow dog lovers/parents who all share the same passion for providing our furry best friends with only honest, high-quality products—giving them the best chance at optimal health and happiness. Its mission to bring only wholesome chews and treats to pups everywhere was inspired by Pawstruck’s CEO’s frustration when struggling to find healthy treats for his own dog, free of any artificial ingredients. The majority of Pawstruck’s inventory is made up of a uniquely “rugged” variety of dog chews and treats, including animal ears, cow hooves, pig snouts, Himalayan yak, and even braided esophagus chews. While our dogs’ natural animal instincts may favor such a selection, Pawstruck treats are far from your standard milk bones and may be an acquired taste for some customers—both dogs and owners alike. Likewise, such products may not be the best choice for dog parents who are ethical vegetarians, or for those generally opposed to the use of meat products for any reason (moral, religious, animal welfare, etc.)

    Where Are Pawstruck’s Products Made?

    Pawstruck’s headquarters are in Long Beach, California, Pawstruck. All dog chews and treats from Pawstruck are American-made in the USA, using both locally and globally sourced ingredients.

    Which Types of Dogs is Pawstruck Best Suited For?

    As mentioned, Pawstruck’s dog chews and treats are made primarily of hardy animal products—ranging from rawhide to braided esophagus bully sticks. As such, dogs who are equally rugged in nature and who regularly enjoy these kinds of treats would most benefit from Pawstruck’s selection. Likewise, as the majority of its products are dog chews, dogs that like to chew are likely Pawstruck’s most targeted canine customer base. Dog owners can select items based on their dogs’ sizes (extra small to large), chewing style (passive, moderate, aggressive),  and life stage (puppy, adult, senior).

    Good For Your Dog’s Health

    Pawstruck’s treats and chews for dogs are loaded with health benefits for your pup. Chewing and gnawing are not only good for keeping dogs happy and occupied for hours, they also help to reduce stress and anxiety levels. Likewise, chewing is beneficial for aiding in plaque removal from your pup’s chompers, in support of their dental health. Additionally, many of Pawstruck’s treats, such as their Natural Jerky Treats made of the all-natural beef esophagus, are naturally high in chondroitin and glucosamine, which supports dogs’ joint and hip health by helping to ensure healthy cartilage.

    Our Experience with Pawstruck Dog Treats and Chews

    pawstruck dog chews and treats packaging

    * Use code PETKEEN15 and save 15%.

    Our experience with Pawstruck’s dog treats and chews was as much of a mixed bag as the varied selection they sent us. As in, some of them were a hit, while others were not. Upon first impression, I really liked the packaging and the thoughtful details all around the box—such as the “Pawstruck.com Promise”, “Warning: May Cause Drooling”, and “Packed with <3 by Tyson (Chief Canine Officer)”. Very cute and nice touch. As for the individual packaging of each bag of treats and chews, I didn’t like how the nutritional facts and ingredient lists were nowhere to be found on any of them. To find this info, I had to look on their website under each of the product details. Of the four different treats and chews we tried—the Natural Dental Chews (Small), Natural Jerky Treats (Medium), Himalayan Yak Cheese Puffs, and Beef Tendon Chews—my 4 year old Chihuahua-terrier mix, Coco, was only able to enjoy the dental chews and jerky treats. Her favorites were the dental chews, as she liked the size, flavor, and chewy texture of them. And I like knowing that they are helping her maintain good oral hygiene and fresh breath. She also liked the jerky treats and took to them right away. For me, the odor was really strong upon opening the bag, which also lingered on my fingers after I gave her the treat. Because of this, I will only give her these to eat outside, as I don’t want the smell to linger inside on her beds, blankets, or my furniture. Due to the large size and tough, hardy textures of both the Yak Cheese Puffs and Beef Tendon Chews, Coco’s little mouth couldn’t fit around either enough for her to enjoy them. Even after breaking up the cheese puffs into smaller pieces (which was quite messy to do), she still wasn’t a fan of its hard, crunchy texture. That being said, I do trust both these treats to be a hit with bigger dogs that are naturally more aggressive chewers. Since it’s Christmas time, I will definitely be gifting both the cheese puffs and tendon chews to my cousin’s Husky and Golden Retriever. All in all, I can appreciate Pawstruck’s mission to supply dogs with natural, wholesome treats and chews that appeal to their natural canine instincts. While their hardy and rugged style may not be the most fitting for my little 15-pound Chihuahua-terrier, I absolutely see the value in Pawstruck’s products—especially that they make treats that are healthy, honest, natural, and totally free of artificial anything. As a dog mom who only feeds my dog all-natural and limited-ingredient foods and treats, I very much support this important aspect of Pawstruck’s company mission.

    Conclusion

    Since 2014, Pawstruck has specialized in bringing wholesome dog treats, chews, and supplements to dogs everywhere. With their uniquely rugged selection—including animal ears, pig snouts, and Himalayan yak chews—Pawstruck’s dog treats and chews are far from your standard milk bones. They're a great value, but be aware that Pawstruck products may be an acquired taste for some customers—both dogs and owners alike. By providing products that are free of artificial ingredients and additives, Pawstruck is fulfilling their mission of making only honest, high-quality products—giving dogs the best chance at optimal health and happiness.
