Spikey, the hapless German shepherd who was rescued from the Los Angeles River by a heroic firefighter dangling from a helicopter, is finally back with his family. In the photo above, a beaming Maria Medina gazes at her dog after picking him up from the shelter that held him in quarantine for 10 days. Spikey is now microchipped, so if he ever does escape again, he won’t have to wait so long to be found.
