Reward Raised After Dog Dragged Down Street
FORT WORTH, Texas — A reward is being offered in connection with the dragging of a dog.
On Oct. 12, a black Labrador Retriever named Lucy was dragged behind a truck and then left for dead in a ditch in Ellis County. According to witnesses, a woman driving a blue Chevrolet pickup truck dragged the dog down Pratt Road near Red Oak.
The witnesses stopped the driver who then put the dog in the pickup and said she would go to the veterinarian.
Lucy was later found a few miles away in a ditch. She is expected to make a full recovery.
Ellis County investigators have received several leads in the case but have not been able to find the woman.
The Humane Society and the SPCA are offering a reward of up to $5,000 for an arrest and conviction in the case.
