Loaded Dog now larger than life
Posted Fri Feb 1, 2008

An unusual statue will be unveiled at Whyalla in South Australia this weekend – a steel sculpture of the “Loaded Dog” from Henry Lawson’s famous Australian story.

The artwork is about the size of a horse and has been made by Andy Scott, who has flown in from Glasgow to attend the official unveiling.

Scott uses steel rod to make his unusual works and jumped at the chance to design something special for the people of Whyalla.

In Lawson’s legendary story, Tommy is the mischievous Labrador retriever that causes much trouble.

The statue will grace the premises of a Whyalla veterinary clinic.
