Thanks to the Pet Realty Network for this great call to arms regarding the apparent love affair between NFL players and dog fighting!
I have had this same thought and wonder why some NFL athletes will not come out against the heinous torture and murder of so many dogs? What do these supposedly brave men fear? Are they so evil-hearted that they do not understand the pain/ Or could it be that they are too cowardly to stand up against one of their own?
Of course, we’re also not hearing from many other professional athletes. Have any basketball players or many baseball players come out and called for an end of this practice? Of course, St. Louis Cardinals manager Tony LoRussa is an outspoken animal protection advocate but where are the rest of the sports figures? Several Nascar drivers make a habit of supporting pet rescues.
But where are the rest of them? And why do we not require more of them?
Shame on all those sports stars who cannot take a moment in their over-pampered lives to speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves!
Is There One NFL Player That Will Speak Out Against Dog Fighting?
Surely there is one NFL player that is man enough to speak out against Dog Fighting or are they all too busy counting their money, looking for sponsorships or do they just need a course in the horrors of animal cruelty? Now Jonathan Vilma (Jonathan who?) of the New York Jets puts his foot in his mouth by comparing dog fighting to horse racing and then saying according to the jetsblog.com that everyone has heard about dog fighting and whether they choose to participate is their decision. Why not stand up against dog fighting Mr Vilma or as you correctly state while attending your sisters graduation at Harvard Business School, Shes got the brains,” Vilma said She took them all.} Truer words were never spoken.
