Dogster is a little quieter and much sadder today. Odie, the Pug known internationally as “the talking dog,” is now gracing the Rainbow Bridge with his lovely “I love you’s.”
Cammie, Mo‘s furmom, barked in the sad news yesterday.
It is with many tears and the heaviest of hearts, that we must tell you that our dear, sweet Odie has gone to the bridge tonight.
He is known all over the world as “The Talking Pug”, being seen on shows such as David Letterman, Montel Williams and more.
Our friend Odie, had had a seizure yesterday, one this morning, and possibly one while his momma was at work. She came home to take him to the vet for tests for other problems he has had lately, and while at the vet, he suffered from a grand mal seizure. He was gently sent to the bridge, to meet our angels Winnie, Ascii, Miles, and all our other beloved friends.
Ruth, Odie‘s momma, cannot be online now, understandably, but we will pass on anything you would like.
Our hearts are broken for ourselves, but we know that Odie is in a wonderful place, in comfort of many friends.
Godspeed, sweet Odie. You are truly one of a kind, and will never be forgotten. WE LOVE YOU!!!!!
A candle page has been started here –
Please send prayers to our friend Odie, and his family. Thank you.
Of course, all dogs are special in their own way but Odie had a talent that made even non-dog people stop and wonder. Odie could talk to humans in their own language. He could actually tell his furmom that he loved her. How many of us would feel blessed beyond measure if our own furbabies could speak like Odie!
My heart goes out to Odie’s family. I know how hard it is to say goodbye. There’s nothing anyone can say to make this easier or hurt less. What I can say is that once most the pain passes (and it will in time but it will take a long time) then Odie’s families and friends will still have the marvelous memories with Odie.
For now, welcome the sweet dreams where Odie can meet you halfway from the Rainbow Bridge. And he will be looking for you there. You may not be able to touch his coat but you can still feel his love, just like he can still feel yours.
Run free at the Bridge, Odie.
