Csaba Monar barked in to tell us about what looks to be a truly ground-breaking scientific conference in Budapest, Huangary this July. If I could, I’d be there for this! If You know of anyone working in any area of canine sciences, please pass this on to them.
The Department of Ethology, Etvs Lornd University and Department of Neurobiology and Cognition Research, University of Vienna are organizing the first Canine Science Forum 2008 conference which will be held in Budapest, between 5-9 July, next year. The website of conference is available at this link.
We strongly feel that there is a need for an interdisciplinary forum that brings together scientists with different expertise on Canines who wish to share their research interests with fellow colleagues working on closely or more distantly related fields. This forum aims to substantiate canine biology in order to develop it as a major model of biological investigations.
The main aim of Canine Science Forum is to utilize science as a source of knowledge to promote
* the emergence of an interdisciplinary field of canine biology
* better integration of dogs in our rapidly changing modern society
* the advantageous roles of dogs in our society and thus increase their well-being
* dog science that develops non-invasive research technologies (Good Scientific Practice)
It would be a giant help for us if you could refer to the conference on your site. It is essentially important to inform the dog specialist community about this opportunity to present their ideas to other colleagues. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions.
Thank you for your kindly help!
Here are some of the topics as listed on the Canine Science Forum site:
Evolution of canines
Ecology and conservation of canines
Dogs and humans
Applied aspect of canine biology
Behavioural biology of canines
Canine Genetics and endo/phenotyping
I soooo want to go!!! Any publications out there want to send a reporter, bark in!
