Heads up Missouri Mutts and other Dogsters in Missouri. There’s breed specific legislation (BSL) cooking in the State House that would put limits on what are being very broadly defined as “pit bulls.” House Bill 1686 would put stringent limits only on pit bulls and their owners requiring a $500 fee and muzzling whenever the dogs are out of their yards. The ASPCA has come out against the bill and is urging MO residents to call their state reps.

According to one Missouri Rep who disagrees with the bill, it looks like the sponsor is willing to make some positive changes in the bill. It also looks like the bill is going nowhere this year. But it never hurts to let your Reps know what YOU think.
