Review Summary

Our Final Verdict

We give Rawz dog Food a rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars.

4.5

The RAWZ pet food brand is relatively new and is making waves in the industry as one of the most committed brands in terms of quality and taste. Most of their ingredients are sourced either in the United States or from Canada.

They also commonly obtain secondary ingredients from Asia and Europe. One of the differences between this food brand and many others is that their food is cooked in relatively small batches and everything is made in a human-grade manufacturing facility. RAWZ has both wet and dry food options and includes meals for both dogs and cats.

    RAWZ Pet Food Reviewed

RAWZ hit the pet food scene in 1961 and has been going strong ever since. It's a family-owned pet food company and they are known for using natural alternatives instead of highly processed ingredients to make easily digestible dog food products. Due to personal illnesses within their families, their motivation for the product line came from trying to find suitable foods that can be eaten on restricted diets.

This brand is also dedicated to certain philanthropic efforts and 100% of the profits are donated to one of their three main causes which include spinal cord and traumatic brain injury in addition to service dog support. They've become renowned for their excellent recipes which contain real lean protein and no artificial colors or ingredients.

What Dogs Is RAWZ Dog Food For?

The RAWZ brand is ideal for any dog breed and dogs of varying ages. They go above and beyond to ensure that their meals are packed with nutrients and lean protein. All of their food is minimally processed, and meal free which makes it ideal for dogs who may be suffering from health issues such as digestive problems or yeast infections.

    RAWZ Dog Food Pricing

Unsurprisingly, this brand is on the higher end of the spectrum in terms of pricing. But given the quality of their ingredients, it makes sense. For a 20 lb. bag of dry kibble, you can expect to pay a fairly high price on Amazon and Petco, about triple the price that you will pay for less expensive brands such as Purina Pro.

You can't purchase directly from their website, so you'll need to scout out their products through third-party retailers such as Amazon, Petco, or local pet stores.

    RAWZ Dog Food Primary Ingredients

One of the best things about this dog food brand is its transparency when it comes to its ingredients. All of their products are made from natural, whole ingredients and contain real meat. Their most commonly used meat sources include chicken, turkey, duck, and beef.

The recipes are minimally cooked to help retain flavor and the meats are all cooked in their own juices--which explains why they are a child full of healthy nutrients. RAWZ Dog food meals are also fortified with essential vitamins, fiber, and minerals to create a well-balanced daily meal source.

So, if you’re looking for a dog food brand that is free of additives such as antibiotics, binders, carrageenan, and other binding agents, here is one to consider.

    RAWZ Recall History

The RAWZ dog and cat food lines haven't been in the marketplace that long, which explains why we weren't able to find any previous recalls of the products. This also is a testament to the commitment that the brand has toward the safety and quality of its ingredients.

Reviews of the 3 Best RAWZ Food Recipes

We've done a bit of digging to find the best sellers for this brand and we discovered that the main online retailers are Amazon, Petco, and Walmart. Fortunately, you can't buy directly from the RAWZ site at the moment, but they do have a search feature where you can find local stores within your region to purchase their product lines.

What Other Users Are Saying About RAWZ Dog Food

The consumer reviews for the RAWZ dog food meals seem to be pretty favorable, though there aren't that many compared to other brands. Perhaps that isn't too surprising considering that this friend is still fairly new in the marketplace. However, many reviews did mention that the meal seems to go over well with dogs with sensitive stomachs and that the pets seem to like the taste. The only negative reviews we found were those that mentioned the lack of visibility of the brand both online and at local pet food stores, with some stating that the supplies were a bit limited at local shops.

"Pups love this stuff, and their tummies too. Way less gas and issues with digestion than with other foods. Previously on food that is delivered fresh frozen and rhymes with “folly”, which is the more accurate name for it."

"This is the food that was recommended for our gig and his health and digestion is great !!"

"My 7 yr. old Maltipoo is thriving on this food with no bloody stools or upset stomach like conventional hard food. My 1.5 yr. old Siberian Husky loves this food being she is a picky eater. My Indoor 6 yr old cat loves both flavors of the cat food in this brand, being a normal picky eater and having a sensitive stomach."

    Conclusion

Overall, we believe that this food brand has a lot to offer. It's great for owners who have dogs with sensitive stomachs or that may be suffering from digestive problems. But the price tag is high enough to deter many owners who are looking for meals that are healthy enough but affordable at the same time.

My 20 month old dog has been on Rawz Natural Pet food since January 2024. During April annual exam and blood work raised ALP values were found in the blood work. Raised ALP can have many causes, including liver, bone or other conditions. Over the following 4 months we retested multiple times and all tests resulted is high ALP levels. Prescribed Ursodiol and upon further testing still had raised ALP. UF Small Animal Hospital sent blood work out for isoenzyme testing and we discussed “his ALP elevation, which has been persistent over several blood work evaluation, caused by increased cortisol levels”. All home Rx, creams, lotions were sent to UF Small Animal Hospital for review and none were found to have caused the ALP problem. UF Small Animal Hospital suggested changing Rawz Natural Pet Food (dry dog food) to another brand and recheck blood in 3 weeks. Upon change of food and blood recheck ALP is normal. UF Small Animal Hospital suspects that “elevated ALP may have been due to a food-induced hyperadrenocortism” UF Small Animal Hospital recommended “keeping Benny on his current food, as his diet change may have played a role in the resolution of his elevated ALP”. Talked and emailed Rawz lot number shown on bag of food 09/09/2024. They have not gotten to me back regarding this concern.
