I’m writing about a new Dogster group called Blankets for Babies. This group is dedicated to making blankets to donate to shelters across the country. They collect things like towels to donate, too. Every month they pick 3-4 shelters to send all the blankets to. This group has only been around for about 3 weeks, if that, and they already have a group of incrediably dedicated pups and their wonderful people working together! Already, almost 100 blankets have been made by the members in this group since it first started in late December.
They have also started the Shelter Stockup 2007 contest to motivate all people to get involved with helping shelters or rescue groups as much as they can. There are many amazing prizes for the winners (several chances to be a winner!) including a mystery prize!! T-shirts are even being sold as a fundraiser, available for both dogs and people.
Anypup who supports the cause, who would like to donate supplies to the group members, or who would like to help in actually making the blankets is welcome to join! Cat or dog families alike!
We’d also like to ask for a favor by the wonderful DogBlog readers. B4B has set up a GiveMeaning.com page, and needs at least 50 more votes before their cause will be approved to go live. GiveMeaning.com is a place where people can pledge money to donate to different causes, and the biggest need for funds in the group is for shipping costs. Follow this link to the GiveMeaning.com page.
And, of course, a plug for the Pound Puppy Project. Want to extend your helpfulness to more than just blankets? The PPP has many resources for helping you find & start just about any endeavor you’re interested in, or maybe help you think of a way to help that you had never thought of before.
Whew! A lot of groups for one post, but such great causes!!
Thanks so much,
Thank you Jasmine and all the other caring Dogsters and Catsters that do so much to make our world better!
