We Love Heather Mattoon's Dogs in Clothes

On the tail of the artist's Cats in Clothes (pun intended) comes a set of dapper dogs.

I interviewed Santa Barbara-based artist and all-around lovely person Heather Mattoon for Catster last year about her "Cats in Clothes" paintings and prints, and I was pleased to visit her online shop today and see some pups. Heather likes to let her painted cats tell her what their names and stories are, and we're assuming she has the same tactic when communicating with her dogs. Here's what she had to say about the new canine additions to her collection:

Charlie by Heather Mattoon. (Etsy page here.)

Charlie - "Charlie practices the trumpet every day after school, despite complaints from the neighbors. He aspires to be a great jazz musician one day."

Stewart by Heather Mattoon. (Etsy page here.)

Stewart - "Stewart, oh Stewart, such a good natured boy. He enjoys very much organizing community meetings to raise awareness of societal issues. He provides all of the snacks as well!"

Sven by Heather Mattoon. (Etsy page here.)

Sven - "Sven spends his days looking after his grandmother. She lets him take her scooter to the shops. He is saving up for a motorcycle but right now he enjoys the Vespa."

Theo by Heather Mattoon. (Etsy page here.)

Theo - "Theo lives in North Carolina in a newly remodeled home. He confuses people with his ironic sense of humor ... he is what some people call a hipster."

Note: Theo actually DOES live in North Carolina and was the subject of a rather large custom portrait (see photos below from Heather's blog). If you're interested in a custom portrait, check out Heather's portrait size and price list.
