Arrival Story:
Mom was lonely for dogs, so she and dad sat down and took some tests to see what dog breed was best. Border Collie was high on the list for both, and dad had always wanted a Border Collie.
His idea was to get TWO dogs, then they could keep each other company and burn off excess energy playing with each other.
After calling around and asking for a few weeks, the local vet suggested a rancher with "the best border collies" he'd ever seen. We called her, and she just happened to have a 4 week old litter.. all boys. We went to see them, and the only two that were left were Apollo and Ares. We both fell in love with them instantly.. it was so hard to wait for the two weeks before we could bring them home. They were so tiny.. they both fit on mom's lap on the drive home.
Bio:
Ares is the "needy" one of the two pups.. and he's always sorry when he (or Apollo, or the cats) gets into trouble. Even if it's someone else that's misbehaving, Ares is the one that comes up to us with his head down apologizing for the behavior.
He LOVES his kitties, and Alley Cat loves him too.. even though she beats him up when he misbehaves.
Ares also has a fairly severe case of hip displaysia, so we have him taking glucosamine and the occasional baby aspirin when it gets really bad. Unfortunately, we can't afford the hip replacement surgery, so we do our best to make him as comfortable as we can.

Mom took me to the vet again.. my toenail was not getting any better. The vet gave me a shot and I got really really sleepy, and fell asleep on the floor. He came in and I sort of woke up.. he carried me to a table and took my toenail off. The whole thing! It was broken pretty badly, I guess. He bandaged up my foot really good and then gave me another shot to wake me up again. It took me a while before I woke up, though. They had to shake me and rub my fur to get me to get up. I was sleepy! I had to wobble out the door, and mom had to pick me up and put me in the truck. She had to carry me out, too, because it was all muddy, and she didn't want my bandage to get muddy.
I'm doing better now, I'm more awake, but OMD my foot hurts. I can't help it, I keep whimpering. Mom gave me an aspirin, I hope that helps.
I'm going to go climb back on the couch and go back to sleep. Bark atcha later!

Mom just made another appointment for me to go to the vet. She says it's because my toe isn't getting better. Even Shiva came up and sniffed it, and he doesn't even like me! So, mom thinks there might be something wrong.
On the up side, Apollo has to go to the vet on Thursday and get his "nooter". :)

BOL! I heard my mom on the phone talking about my brother.. looks like he has to go to the vet and get "nootered" too! About time, I was thinking that was pretty unfair that I had to go do it and he didn't have to.
Mom got a call from our breeder the other day, and she told mom that she was going to send back the money she paid for me. Mom thought it would be a good idea to spend it on Apollo. He needs "ecksrays" and "nooter", just like me.
OMD.. that means he has to wear The Cone! ROFBOL!
