There’s no better way to spend a sunny day than a visit to one of the city of Fresno’s dog parks. These parks provide a secure and fun place for your furry friend to run, play, and socialize with other canines. The gorgeous city of Fresno has an off-leash park to suit every pup’s needs and due to its large influx of pet owners, it’s home to some of the best off-leash dog parks in the state.

So, here are a few parks for you to grab your pup, some treats, and head out to on the weekend or during the week after work.

The 6 Off-Leash Dog Parks in Fresno, CA

1. Woodward Dog Park

️ Address: N Friant Rd, Fresno, CA, 93720
Open Times: 7 am to 7 pm
Cost: $5 park entrance fee
Off-Leash: Yes
  • Smaller than other parks
  • Completely fenced in with a double-gate entry system
  • Nice clean open areas for off-leash roaming
  • Plenty of parking and available from dusk to dawn
  • Grassy areas, toys, and benches
  • Easy to beat crowds if you go in the mornings or evening weekends

2. Dr. James W. Thornton Dog Park

️ Address: 3634 N Hayston Ave, Fresno, CA, 93726
Open Times: Daily 7 am to 7 pm
Cost: $5 a day/$10 a month/$100 a year
Off-Leash: Yes
  • Plenty of parking
  • Off-leash areas and walking trails nearby
  • Larger park with plenty of space
  • Well-maintained and has shaded areas to keep cool
  • Outdoor bathrooms and water stations available

3. Todd Beamer Dog Park

Open Times: Monday thru Friday: 4 pm to 8 pm
Cost: $5 park entrance fee

  • Plenty of paid parking available
  • Shade, benches, and water stations in park
  • Has trails nearby
  • Large grassy area and enclosed small dog area

  • Perfect place to socialize or just relax

4. Basin AH1 Dog Park and Pond

Cost: $5 park entrance fee

  • Fenced in but has plenty of space for your dog to run around
  • Has an agility course for great exercise
  • Has plenty of parking and outdoor restrooms
  • Nearby pond to splash around
  • Grassy and shady areas to keep cool

5. Roeding Dog Park

Open Times: 24 hrs (currently on Monday, Thursday, and Saturday only)
Cost: $5 park entrance fee
Off-Leash: Yes
  • Enclosed park with lots of open space
  • Dog-friendly area inside a larger park
  • Water fountains, outdoor bathrooms, and picnic tables
  • Conveniently open 24 hours a day
  • Separate areas for larger and smaller dogs

6. City of Selma Dog Park

️ Address: Nebraska Avenue, Selma, CA, US, 93662
Open Times: Sunrise to Sunset
Cost: Free
Off-Leash: Yes
  • One of the most spacious parks on the list
  • Plenty of shade and open areas
  • Free parking, outdoor restrooms, and kids park and hiking trail
  • Has a covered area for shade and snacking
  • Wide enough for several minutes of leash-free roaming

Conclusion

If you have a dog and live in the Fresno area you shouldn’t have any trouble finding an awesome park to visit during the week. Or if you prefer to go on the weekend, there are plenty of options available where you can let your pup run free without the burden of a leash.

Remember to ensure that your pup has all of its vaccinations, as some dog parks may require this for entry.
