If you’re looking for an active and friendly family dog, you can’t get much better than the Labrador Retriever. There is a reason that they are one of the most popular family dogs in the United States.

Due to their popularity, breeders are spread throughout much of Louisiana. Here, we listed a few of the state’s most popular Labrador Retriever breeders.

The 4 Labrador Retriever Breeders in Louisiana

1. M & A Labrador Kennels

M & A Labrador Kennels

  • South Louisiana

M & A Labrador Kennels produces working and companion Labradors. Their puppies are introduced to water at a relatively young age, making them great for families looking for retrieving dogs.

They regularly run their dogs in AKC and UKC field trials and produce companion animals.

The puppies’ dewclaws are removed, and they are up to date on all their vaccinations by the time they are sent to their new homes.

2. Y-Farms

Y-Farms

  • Zachary, Louisiana

Y-Farms mainly specializes in dog boarding, puppy training, and obedience training. They occasionally have puppies for sale, though this is not their primary purpose. They have been in operation since 1998.

Their litters are generally quite expensive compared to many others. Much of this is due to the training that they provide their puppies.

3. Bayou Labradors

Bayou Labradors

  • Marrero, Louisiana

Bayou Labradors produces chocolate Labradors that are well-socialized and introduced to water at a young age.

Their puppies have their declaws removed and their first set of shots, and they are dewormed before being sent to their final homes. The breeder also provides health, hip, and eye guarantees for all their puppies.

They do not produce as many litters as some other breeders.

4. Jeffco Kennels

Jeffco Kennels

  • Livingston, Louisiana

Jeffco Kennels produces both Beagles and Labrador Retrievers. Their primary dogs seem to be Beagles, but they do regularly produce Labrador Retrievers. You can stay updated on their current litter through their website.

They produce Labs in a variety of different colors, including black and red.
