How Much Does BarkBox Cost? (2026 Update)

Share

BarkBox Monthly Subscription Box

If you have a dog—and maybe even if you don’t—you’ve certainly seen the ads for BarkBox. This subscription service provides treats, toys, and chews to dogs of all shapes and sizes. The box comes in three types and ranges from $14.99 to $45 a month, according to the option you choose at checkout. As of writing, there’s a deal where you can double your first order for free when you get a subscription, but that is subject to change.

So, is BarkBox worth it? What does the box include? We answer those questions and discuss the BarkBox subscription service here.

What Types of Subscriptions Does BarkBox Offer?

BarkBox offers three types of subscription boxes and a BarkBox lite subscription. For a fee, you can add an extra treat, toy, or chew to your packages.

  • Classic Bark Box: $35 for a monthly subscription, $26 a month for a 6-month subscription, and $23 a month for a 12-month subscription
  • Super Chewer Box: $45 for a monthly subscription; $35 for a 6-month subscription, and $29 for a 12-month subscription
  • BARK Bright Dental Box: $30 for a monthly subscription; $25 for a 6-month subscription, and $22 for a 12-month subscription
  • Classic BarkBox Lite: $14.99 per month
  • Super Chewer Lite BarkBox: $19.99 per month

What’s in a BarkBox?

The contents of your BarkBox will vary. For example, if you choose one of the Lite BarkBoxes, you’ll get one treat and one toy per box. The Classic BarkBox contains two bags of treats, two toys, and one chew. The Super Chewer Box has two bags of treats, two durable toys, and two chews. The BARK Bright Box contains a month’s supply of toothpaste and dental chews.

Pros and Cons of Choosing BarkBox

As with any subscription service, there are pros and cons to the BarkBox service.

Pros
  • There’s a special box for tough chewers.
  • The toys are unique.
  • The customer service is great.
  • It cuts down on trips to the pet store.
  • There are quite a few savings and discount opportunities.
Cons
  • There are no refunds.
  • You can’t get a box that just has treats.

Is It Possible to Choose My Monthly Theme?

The best part about a subscription box is the surprises that are delivered to your door for your pet every month. That’s why you can’t choose the monthly theme for your pet. However, the themes do seem to vary, covering everything from WWE Wrestling to Christmas with “Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer” and many others.

Is the BarkBox Subscription Worth It?

In our opinion, yes, the subscription is worth the money that you pay. You don’t have to go to the pet store to purchase chews, treats, and toys for your furry friend. The best way to find out if it’s worth it for you and your canine, though, is to try a box and see how happy it makes your dog.

Final Thoughts

BarkBox is a service tailored to canines. There are quite a few options and price points for the boxes, and many owners and their dogs love the toys, treats, and chews that arrive on their doorstep every month. Whether you have a Golden Retriever that’s rough on their toys or a Terrier that’s picky about their treats, BarkBox has treats and toys for canines of every size, breed, and temperament.
