Who Makes Finn and Where Is It Produced?

Finn is a direct-to-consumer dog vitamin and supplement company that is privately owned. It was founded by a group of people who worked with wellness products for humans. They decided to shift their focus to help support the health and well-being of their dogs, and Finn was born.

The products are formulated and produced in a US-based facility that meets Good Manufacturing Practice requirements and is certified by the National Animal Supplements Council. Every product batch is tested for safety before leaving the facility.

Who Is Finn Best Suited For?

Finn offers high-quality products that support a variety of issues, from joint problems to skin problems to anxiety. They have products that meet the needs of dogs of many ages, sizes, and health backgrounds. Their direct-to-consumer brand design makes this a great option for people who do most of their ordering online or who are trying to cut out the trip to the pet store for supplements every month.

    Discussion of Product Quality

finn calming aid supplements in tin can

The ingredients in Finn products vary widely between individual products, which allows them to have a specific focus on one problem or set of problems. They contain both proven ingredients, like omega fatty acids and probiotics, and ingredients that have shown promising results, like bee propolis and valerian root.

Because of their high manufacturing standards, you can feel good knowing that the quality of the products produced by Finn is safe and made with top-notch ingredients. It is important to remember, though, that Finn products are supplements and vitamins, and they do not promise to cure medical issues. It’s always best to discuss the addition of new supplements with your vet before doing so.

    Ordering and Auto Shipping

Finn has a very user-friendly website that offers multiple ordering options. You can order through one-time purchases or subscribe and save. If you order multi-packs of products, two products at once, or sign up for Subscribe & Save, then you’ll receive a discount on your products. Subscribe & Save orders currently have an automatic 15% discount, not to mention the products will be shipped to your house right on cue, so you won’t run out.

    Efficacy

The efficacy of Finn’s products will vary between individual dogs. Since they are supplements and vitamins, not medications, their impact can vary between each dog based on age, metabolism, weight, health conditions, and overall body chemistry.

While their products are very high quality and can be highly effective, you should always keep in mind that some products just may not work for some dogs. It’s a good idea to try the product for at least 30 days, as long as your dog isn’t having any negative side effects, to give you a good idea of how well it works for your pet. Supplements and vitamins aren’t typically products that will produce overnight results, especially with chronic issues.

    Design and Products

The design of the packaging and products offered by Finn is clean and simple, making them easy to understand, easy to read, and easy to administer. The color coordination of each product will help ensure you don’t grab the wrong supplement tin, and the clear product names mean you aren’t guessing about what a product does.

The tins are easy to open, and Finn’s products are flavored chewables that are highly palatable, making them easy to administer. They also currently offer a specific line of supplements and vitamins, which means you don’t have to search through pages and pages of products to find exactly what you’re looking for.

    Pricing

Finn products are an investment in your dog’s health and well-being. For some dogs, a tin of a product may last for multiple months, making the value of the product better than it would be for a larger dog that takes a larger dose. The multiple discount options offered by Finn do help make their products affordable.

    Recall History

At this time, Finn has no history of recalls or known product issues.

Reviews of the 3 Best Finn Supplements

    1. Finn Calming Aid

    Finn Calming Aid

The Finn Calming Aid is designed with relatively few active ingredients, but those ingredients are highly successful. Many of them are proven effective, including melatonin and l-theanine. This product is intended to support calmness and relaxation, and while it can be used daily to help support nervous dogs, it’s primarily designed for short-term use to reduce stress for dogs in acutely stressful situations.

Vet visits, fireworks, and travel are all great times to give this product to your nervous dog. It can also be used to help support a dog with separation anxiety as they go through training and behavior modification to reduce their anxiety.

    Pros
    • Highly effective active ingredients
    • Supports calmness and reduces stress
    • Ideal for acutely stressful situations, like fireworks and vet visits
    • Can help support dogs with separation anxiety
    Cons
    • Short-term use only

    2. Finn Allergy & Itch

    Finn Allergy & Itch

If you have a dog with seasonal allergies, you know how hard it can be to relieve their itching. The Finn Allergy & Itch supplement is made with multiple ingredients that support your dog’s body in producing an appropriate immune response to allergens, as well as supporting normal histamine levels, which reduces itchiness.

It also contains ingredients that support skin and coat health and digestive health, further helping to reduce allergy symptoms. This product is one of the least expensive products offered by Finn. It does contain beef liver, which may be a trigger for dogs with food allergies.

    Pros
    • Supports immune system health and response
    • Encourages normal histamine levels
    • Supports skin, coat, and digestive health
    • One of the least expensive Finn products
    Cons
    • Contains beef liver

    3. Finn Multivitamin

    Finn Multivitamin

The Finn Multivitamin is an easy and effective way to ensure your dog is receiving all the necessary vitamins and minerals to support their health. It contains omega fatty acids to support skin, coat, joint, heart, brain, and eye health, as well as probiotics to support digestive health. The blend of ingredients supports energy and vitality, making it a good product for older dogs. It also contains glucosamine, which supports joint health. Like many multivitamins, it may be difficult to see any noticeable differences in your dog’s health or behaviors.

    Pros
    • Helps ensure your dog receives all needed vitamins and minerals
    • Good source of omega fatty acids and glucosamine
    • Supports digestive tract health and function
    • Encourages energy and vitality, especially in older dogs
    Cons
    • May not produce noticeable differences

    Our Experience With Finn

dog looking at a hand with finn supplements

I have three dogs: Penny, a 13-year-old mixed breed, Eva, a 4-year-old Bully mix, and Dolly, a 10-month-old Standard Poodle. We received the Finn products shortly before July 4th, and we were extremely excited to try the Calming Aid under such stressful conditions.

The fireworks in our neighborhood start about a week before July 4th and go on for a couple of days afterward, so we were able to put this supplement through its paces, to great effect. While our dogs did all still react to the sound of fireworks, they were far calmer than any previous year. There was less barking at sounds and less overall stress for everyone. They also slept well at night and during naps, not letting the sound of fireworks disturb them.

Eva is our problem child when it comes to allergies, so the Allergy & Itch supplement has been a great option for her. While nothing over the counter fully clears up her itchy feet, we have noticed less foot licking and less redness and irritation on her feet since she’s been on the Allergy & Itch supplement. She was probably on it for about a week before we started noticing a notable difference, but it has seemed to help her significantly.

Penny is a senior pup, so we’re always looking for ways to better support her health. The Multivitamin has been a nice addition to her daily routine, and she does seem to have a little more pep in her step than usual. She definitely still has a little stiffness from arthritis, which is to be expected, but her energy levels and playfulness do seem to have increased.

The Digestive Probiotics are one we have yet to test accurately since none of our dogs have had diarrhea or  digestion issues, so it’s hard to say whether it would or wouldn’t work well for that type of problem.

    Conclusion

Finn products are made with high-quality ingredients in a safe facility that is held to high standards. The products are packed with great active ingredients, including some that are proven effective and others that have shown great promise in supporting some issues. While these products aren’t miracle cures for any problem, they are great for supporting your dog’s health.

Finn’s package designs and product names are excellent, thanks to their clear purpose, color coordination, and clearly defined ingredients. They are also easy to open. Overall, Finn is a great brand that offers discounts, auto shipping, and wonderful products.
