Dogsters, here’s a chance to enter a contest to win a great new collar for your best pal! The collars are designed and hand sewn by Jennifer, who runs the San Francisco area company, Sirius Republic. She also donates some of Sirius Republic’s proceeds to nonprofit animal rescue organizations.
Jennifer sent us some collars to try on for size, and Jake thinks they’re the cat’s meow. Last weekend he and his girlfriend, Gracie Genolio, ventured to a stunning oceanside area near San Francisco to model their new collars. Their photos are below. But which one is Jake? Which one is Gracie? Or are they really the same dog? Does Jake’s girlfriend exist in his mind only? What do you think? Wait! Don’t tell us yet. Read on.

Nice collars, aren’t they? They’re both Martingale collars, which are handy for dogs who do things like back out of their collars to get to the nearest fisherman on the beach (I shall name no names, Jake!). Sirius also makes regular buckle collars. All collars are handcrafted using beautiful fabrics, strong nylon webbing, and metal hardware. They come in three widths – Skinny (3/4-inch), Reguar (1-inch), & Wide (1 1/2-inch) – and are fully adjustable to fit dogs of all sizes.
To enter Dogster’s Sirius Republic collar contest, here’s what you need to do:
1) Give us your best guess about which dog above is Jake, and which dog is Gracie — or if they’re the same dog.
2) Go to Sirius Republic’s website and sniff around the collars. Leave a comment telling us whether you’d want a Martingale or regular buckle collar if you win, and let us know the width, fabric style, and size.
Those who guess correctly Step 1 will be entered into a random drawing. The winner will be announced next Monday, July 26, and will receive the collar described in his or her comment. Deadline for entries is Saturday, July 24, at 5 pm PDT.
