Maybe I’ve just gotten too old or too sensitive or I’ve been on the road too long but I can’t think about the 53 doomed Vick dogs who will be put to sleep, if they haven’t already been at the time of this post, without eye-leaking. How lonely for them!
I completely understand that there is no way to fully rehabilitate those dogs who have been so brutalized that they can never trust another human. I understand why they must be moved prematurely to the Rainbow Bridge. Rationally, there is no question.
But there is something we Dogsters and Catsters can do to remember them and maybe help them as they make the move. We can take a a little time in our days to contemplate them and send them our thoughts of support and love for those who have known no love. I’m taking 53 seconds every morning until Vick is sentenced to remember the 53 dogs who will be paying the price for his cruelty and inhumanity. Please join me and maybe the 53 dogs will somehow know when they reach the Bridge that someone, somewhere cared about them and their lives.
