Its no secret that owning a pet brings all sorts of benefits to your life. Recent studies show evidence that suggests owning a pet fosters healthy aging for humans.

In a new poll conducted by the University of Michigan’s National Poll on Healthy Aging, pet owners aged 50 to 80 reported significant physical and emotional health benefits of pets. Some highlights include:

79% Reduce stress
73% Provide a sense of purpose
65% Connect with others
64% Be physically active
60% Help cope with physical and emotional symptoms

God in His infinitely wise creativity has given us four-legged companions to help us along on our pilgrimage through life. These companions are absolutely amazing. Even though they and we speak different languages, I have learned over the years that it is not difficult to understand them, all it takes is time and patience, and we soon can know them almost as well as they so obviously know us. Thank you, God, for showing us your love through all of creation!
