What excellent news! The only thing that bothers me is that the police are so unconcerned about the ransom calls. Do these guys think that the caller will just disappear and never do something else like this again? Not likely.

Missing dog found safe; police discount possibility of dognapping
COON RAPIDS, Minn. (AP) A dog whose owner believes it was dognapped and held for ransom is safe at home.
Honey, a Pomeranian-poodle mix, was found by a neighbor Saturday, freezing cold with icicles hanging from its fur, wandering a few blocks from its home.
Owner Shirley Glass said Honey disappeared a few days before Christmas after someone opened the door and the dog ran out of the house. She reported Honey missing Dec. 27.
Glass said she received 10 calls starting Jan. 2 from a man who said he had Honey and that she would have to give him $500 or the dog would die. She said Saturday that she thinks media attention scared him into releasing her dog.
Police aren’t convinced and say they’re not investigating the case as a crime.
“There was nothing to indicate someone had taken her,” Sgt. Kevin Smith said. “It sounds like it was an inside dog that didn’t know how to make its way home once it got out and started wandering.”
Garner posted missing dog signs throughout the city and listed her phone number, so it’s possible the caller was just someone who saw the signs.
