The 10 Labrador Retriever Breeders in Kansas

1. Wheatland Dog Center

Wheatland Dog Center

  • Derby, KS

A combination breeding and training kennel, Wheatland produces field-bred, hunting Labradors. Their dogs receive all recommended health tests and genetic screenings before breeding. Puppies are raised in the breeder’s home and receive early socialization and beginning training before they go to their new families.

This kennel prioritizes breeding Labradors with a strong drive to work and perform but with the ability to turn off the work ethic when it’s time to go home and just be a loving pet.

2. Grimm Girls Farm

  • Morrill, KS

Grimm Girls Farm is a family farm operation that breeds Labrador Retrievers among their many other activities. The puppies are raised on the farm and with kids and other animals. This kennel breeds Labradors of traditional colors (yellow, chocolate, black) as well as silver Labs. Their puppies are suitable as pets and hunting companions. The kennel prioritizes raising healthy and happy dogs that’ll fit well into their new families.

3. CJK Hunters

CJK HUNTERS

  • Colby, KS

CJK Hunters aims to produce Labradors with calm and friendly temperaments that are also excellent working dogs. Their breeding dogs come primarily from hunting and dock diving parentage. They breed Labradors in the traditional black, yellow, and chocolate coloring only. Before puppies go to their new homes, they are started with both crate training and house training.

4. Siess Ranch Lovable Labs

Siess Ranch Lovable Labs

  • Seneca, KS

A family breeding operation, Siess Ranch raises primarily healthy pet Labrador Retrievers rather than working dogs. Puppies are raised and socialized with the family and the kennel offers a health guarantee.

The family has been breeding dogs for over 15 years and makes it a point to try to match their puppies to the right living situation to ensure a successful pairing. Based on the adorable photos and testimonials from past puppy buyers, they seem to do a pretty good job!

5. Lankas Labs

  • Atwood, KS

Lankas Labs is a rural Kansas kennel focused on breeding strong hunting and pointing Labradors in a variety of colors, including silver and red. Puppies are sold with a health guarantee and the kennel will ship dogs to their new owners if necessary.

Many champion hunters are found in the bloodlines of the dogs from this kennel. Reviews from new puppy owners specifically mention how intelligent and quick to learn this breeder’s dogs are as they grow and enter training.

6. Wea Creek Labradors

  • Louisburg, KS

Specializing in versatile working Labradors suitable for hunting, therapy, or search and rescue work, Wea Creek Labradors offers primarily non-traditional coat colors. Champagne, silver, and charcoal Labs are most commonly seen based on the genetics of the parent dogs, with an occasional traditional color thrown in as well.

A small, family kennel, they only have a few litters available per year. The breeder offers a health guarantee and will ship puppies by air, although they prefer not to.

7. Duck Creek Silver Labs

  • Winfield, KS

Duck Creek Silver Labs breed hunting and pointing Labradors in traditional and dilute colors, like silver and champagne. They are a smaller kennel that performs detailed genetic testing on their breeding dogs and tries hard to produce healthy dogs in all colors.

They offer a multi-level health guarantee depending on whether or not new owners choose to feed the breeder’s recommended diet. This kennel will also take back and re-home any puppy or dog they sell that doesn’t work out in their new home, rather than see them go to a shelter.

8. Hunt It Up Labs

Hunt It Up Labs

  • Oberlin, KS

Hunt It Up Labs is a very small breeding kennel that produces 1 or 2 litters a year out of their three female family hunting dogs. Quality over quantity is key for this kennel and their breeding dogs are all health-tested and certified and come from many generations of superb hunting stock. Puppies receive handling and socializing right from the start from both adults and children.

9. BlackJack Kennels

  • Chanute, KS

BlackJack Kennels produces pointing and hunting Labradors that also have the temperament to serve as pets or therapy dogs. Their parent dogs are all talented and often champion hunting dogs whose puppies go on to similar award-winning ways. These experienced breeders spend time socializing each litter of puppies to help ensure the little Labradors adapt quickly to their new homes.

10. Double TT British Kennels

  • Emporia, KS

A large, professional breeding and training kennel, Double TT British Kennels uses exclusively British Labrador bloodlines, imported directly from England and Scotland. British Labradors are bred to be working dogs, with calmer, less excitable temperaments than American Labs. This kennel also offers a variety of training courses including basic puppy training. The owner is a highly experienced dog trainer and all the dogs are health tested and certified.
