140+ Halloween Dog Names for Your Spooky Pooch

Dogster_Halloween Names

Whether you adopt your dog around Halloween or just love the season, there are many unique and interesting Halloween dog names to consider. Some are very traditional, like Casper; others are more out there, like Abracadabra. Whatever your style, you should find something on the list below.

Naming your dog is often harder than most new owners might guess. There are many names to choose from, and you have to settle on just one for your canine. However, you don’t have to rush. Take your time going through these lists and our guide below.

How to Name Your Dog

It’s helpful to examine a long list of names, like the ones you’ll find below. Start by browsing the lists and writing down your favorites. You want to keep this list as short as possible, but don’t start excluding names just yet—especially if you have family members who also want a say in the name.

You may want to review the list more than once to ensure you’ve picked out all your favorites. It’s easy to overlook names on the first pass. After you’ve made your list, get together with your friends or family members and ask their opinions. Preferably, they should also make a list of their favorites. Try to cross off as many names as possible at this point. Don’t add it to the list if you don’t love it (or can at least agree to it).

In the end, you should preferably have a list of only a few names. Now it’s time to try these names out on your dog. Luckily, it takes dogs several days to learn their name, so you don’t have to worry about confusing them. Sometimes, we love a name, but it may not “fit” our dogs.

Finding the perfect name occurs when you combine what you like with the dog you have in front of you. Ultimately, you should be able to narrow it down to your favorite name. Don’t spend too many agonizing nights on this decision, even if there are a few names you’re stuck between.

Final Thoughts

Hopefully, one of the names on this list stood out as an excellent option for your dog. We tried to include names of all kinds, including some that are very Halloween-themed and others that are more under-the-radar.

With such a long list of names, it can take time to sift through them. As we stated above, reading through multiple times can be helpful since some of your favorite names may not jump out to you on the first run-through.

You can use this list to make a list of your favorites or come up with your own.
