The state of Florida has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Here you’ll find soft, sugar-white sand, as well as beautiful scenery with an abundance of wildlife throughout the entire state.

Florida also has several dog-friendly beaches, and we’ll cover 10 of the best so that you know where to take your canine pal the next time you visit the Sunshine State. We’ll list both off-leash and on-leash beaches so that you’re better prepared and know what to expect.

The 10 Dog-Friendly Beaches in Florida

1. Pensacola Beach West Dog Park

️🗺️ Address:  Fort Pickens Rd, Gulf Breeze, FL 32561
🕐 Open Times: From sunrise to sunset May 31 – Oct 31
💲 Cost: Free
🐕 Off-Leash: No
  • Located near historic Fort Pickens—a must-see attraction
  • Closed in the winter because of turtle season, so please be respectful of the open times
  • Designated signs indicate dog-friendly areas of the beach
  • Dog waste bags, trash bins, and handy wipes available throughout
  • Heads up – dog’s current vaccination records required

2. Salinas Park

  • Designated leash-free area
  • Fenced-in beach area
  • 2 areas for large and small dogs
  • Dogs can enjoy both the park and the beach

5. Mickler’s Landing

🕐 Open Times: Open 24 hours Saturday & Sunday

  • Leashed dogs permitted on the beach
  • Plenty of parking

  • Handicapped-accessible walkway to the beach from the parking lot

6. Jupiter Beach

  • Off-leash beach but no restrooms or facilities available
  • Dog-friendly restaurant (Louie’s Backyard) right next door
  • Heads up: this beach has rocky sand rather than soft sand

9. Bayview Dog Beach

  • 24 acres of leash-free romping and roaming
