The state of Florida has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Here you’ll find soft, sugar-white sand, as well as beautiful scenery with an abundance of wildlife throughout the entire state.

Florida also has several dog-friendly beaches, and we’ll cover 10 of the best so that you know where to take your canine pal the next time you visit the Sunshine State. We’ll list both off-leash and on-leash beaches so that you’re better prepared and know what to expect.

1. Pensacola Beach West Dog Park

️ Address:  Fort Pickens Rd, Gulf Breeze, FL 32561
Open Times: From sunrise to sunset May 31 – Oct 31
Cost: Free
Off-Leash: No
  • Located near historic Fort Pickens—a must-see attraction
  • Closed in the winter because of turtle season, so please be respectful of the open times
  • Designated signs indicate dog-friendly areas of the beach

2. Salinas Park

3. Brohard Beach and Paw Park

  • Only beach in the area that allows dogs
  • Amenities include dog waste bags, benches, showers, and water fountains (for both humans and dogs)
  • Beautiful scenery using a boardwalk that leads to beach

4. Davis Island Dog Beach

Open Times: 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.
Cost: Free
Off-Leash: Yes
  • Designated leash-free area
  • Fenced-in beach area
  • 2 areas for large and small dogs
  • Dogs can enjoy both the park and the beach

5. Mickler’s Landing

  • Plenty of parking
  • Plenty of amenities that include showers, restrooms, and grills

6. Jupiter Beach

Open Times: Sunrise to sunset
Cost: Free
Off-Leash: Yes

  • 5 miles of leash-free beach access for your pooch
  • Shady spots available for cooling off
  • Beautiful beach with amazing sunsets
  • Known as one of the best off-leash beaches

7. Haulover Beach Dog Park

Open Times: 8:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

  • 2 separate designated areas for small and large dogs
  • One of the most beautiful beaches in Miami

8. Key West Dog Beach

  • Only dog beach in the region
  • Off-leash beach but no restrooms or facilities available
  • Dog-friendly restaurant (Louie’s Backyard) right next door
  • Heads up: this beach has rocky sand rather than soft sand

9. Bayview Dog Beach

️ Address: 2000 E. Lloyd Street, Pensacola, FL
Open Times: 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

  • One of the best dog beaches in the Panhandle
  • Amenities include picnic areas, grills, restrooms, hiking trails, playgrounds, tennis courts, and swings
  • Soft sand
  • The fenced area goes into the water for dogs
  • An excellent beach for dogs who love the water

10. Walton Rocks Beach/Dog Park

️ Address:  6700 South Ocean Drive, Jensen Beach, FL
Open Times: 6:00 a.m. to sunset
Cost: Completely free of charge
Off-Leash: Yes
  • 24 acres of leash-free romping and roaming
  • Picnic tables and restrooms are available
  • One of the best off-leash beaches for dogs
  • Hose available to wash the sand off your pooch
