New Animated E-card Service Featuring Border Collies
Canine Cards is a new international e-card company which offers superb quality animated greeting cards featuring border collies. The quality of the animation makes this site different each card tells a short story. Membership costs just $13 for one year and members can then send unlimited e-cards.
A proportion of every new Canine Cards membership, will be donated to The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association. The company is aiming to raise a minimum of $14,000 which would enable it to sponsor a guide dog puppy from birth, through the first year of its life and vital puppy walking training.
The company was launched in July 2006 by Colette Turner, a long time Border Collie owner and trainer from the UK. Canine Cards launched with four brilliant cards and new cards will be added at Christmas and throughout 2007.
The two Canine Card dogs currently on the site are called Meg and Jazz and are modeled on Colettes own Border Collies, Kerrie and Ross. A third Canine Card dog will join the site after Christmas.
A huge amount of effort goes into making the animation as real as possible. Each card can take on average 10 days to produce. The real: dogs are filmed completing all the movements required for the cards and then the animation is taken from the film. Just one shot of Jazz jumping one jump in the Jumping Jazz” card took 35 separate animated frames !! The team also take great care in adding the sound for the Meg and the Lamb” card, the sound recordist spent 45 minutes waiting in a field for some very quiet lambs to bleat !!
Colette Turner, owner of Canine Cards said I am very proud of Canine Cards . It has been a real thrill seeing my two beautiful Borders coming to life as the animated dogs. I am looking forward to developing the site with the addition of more brilliant collie cards !! After Christmas we will be adding a variety of cards to say Happy Birthday and Good Luck so — watch this space!!”
Three superb new cards for Christmas are now available on the site.
