King is still in the driver's seat (this is England, you may recall) in this photo. At this point we think the police are looking for King's person, so he is contained. (Photos: Worcester Telegram & Gazette)

OK humans, picture this. You’re driving along, all la-tee-da, and suddenly a Pit Bull jumps through your open driver’s window. Amazingly, you do not have a heart attack or crash the car. In fact, you are able to pull over and try to coax the dog out. But the dog won’t leave. He just won’t get out.

Is the dog trying to find a new home? Is the dog your karmic twin from many lifetimes, finally reuniting with you? Is the dog rabid? Did he just take a driving class and want to practice his skills?

This is precisely what happened in Worcester, England, yesterday. We got the tip about King’s attempted road trip from Debbie Ouellette, who saw the story in her local paper, the Worcester Telegram & Gazette. (A big “arf” to you, Debbie! Dogsters, if you have a story tip or a great photo or video you think we’d like to know about, send the info to Maria and me at the For the Love of Dog response page.)

King is reuinted with his person, who looks like he's thrilled to see his dog again.

What happened with King? Police and animal control were called in, and found the dog’s person.

And oh, what a sight he is! How could King want to go on a road trip when he has this caring, loving guy as his person? I mean, just look at that body language! If that doesn’t say “King, I am SO happy you are home,” I don’t know what does! He’s almost hunched with happiness. Maria, however, interprets his body language as saying, “You schmoe. I had to get up from a 10-hour nap to go get you. I’m going back to bed, you little creep.”
